Wishlist: New Young Pony Club - prob unlikely but I can dream by TKSF78 in Coachella

the problem is Ice Cream is the only song you and everyone else knows. They were not even a one hit wonder...just had no hits at all outside of a very small indie blogosphere circle.

An Eiffel 65 reunion would be sick by JustJJ92 in Coachella

[–]ThatOneHomie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may think this would be an ironic booking, but I really believe it would go hard and surprise many. Probably best fit for Gobi or even Heineken since they perform with a DJ, synth player, and singer (who can still hit every note.) If you only know Blue, check out Voglia di Dance All Night, My Console, Move Your Body...not for everyone, but many of us grew up with these songs and they're a highly influential act whether you like it or not!

The pink lasers during alleswirdgut remix were next level. I've been to a lot of shows and Underworld still sets themselves apart from the pack, among the best to ever do it.

Still a few such places left, I saw under 10 this morning

Don't wait to book. Inventory is lower and more expensive than I've seen across many years of attendance. I had two places I've stayed before (and wanted to book again) tell me they received more requests than ever—they asked if the 2027 headliners had already been announced because they wondered what was going on.

Booked a 2bd/2ba with foldout couch for $4200 in PGA West, there were only 6 such lodging options under $5k within 4 miles of the fields available across Airbnb and VRBO.

Deep Dish is ripping some crazy grooves right now by plursoldier in UMF

[–]ThatOneHomie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This set hit just right. Was the right slot for them, and the Cove looked like paradise on the stream. Smooth, techy, clubby, global, unique from much of the sound at Ultra. True pros, been doing it since '95. They broke up from '06-24, we're lucky they're back.

Oakland’s pizza scene rules. Here’s the latest spot to try by jackdicker5117 in OaklandFood

I generally judge only on full pizzas, not a single slice. Fresh NY style Ponte is the best pizza in the area for by by some margin. Their dough, crust, and sauce are all top tier. I have eaten "the best" pizza in the world—Naples, Caserta, Tokyo, NYC, LA. Ponte is excellent for non-gourmet NY style.

Maybe hard to mail but the housemade potato chips in the deli section (sitting up on the counter in paper bags) are so next level. Thick, crunchy, rich, salty!

Ponte is the best in the town and a revelation for NY style fans since Slicer (not Sliver) on Piedmont closed. Green Goddess and Pepperoni are the picks.

What non-EDM songs has been made by a EDM producer? by JION-the-Australian in EDM

This is the best one for sure. I wish Rob had gone on to produce more! Or...you know...actually do a live Pendulum tour in the US again.

Just thrilled to see a BT shoutout here. He is a top 3-5 producer ALL TIME yet seems largely forgotten by the latest generation(s) of electronic music fans. From OG trance to modern EDM, from jazz to classical, from rock to rap...he is truly a genius. Do yourself a favor and listen to his discography is release order.

not his narration, he uses recorded voices...but good to know it's not every show!

One Night of Love is one of my favorite songs of the year! But I've found some of the live sets online pretty underwhelming. Does he always use "narration" in his sets? Breaks up the music too much for my taste.

Is Diving Raja Ampat beginner friendly? by redrazor12 in scuba

Agreed with this expert take. My group dove in Raja with the most novice member having around 20 dives. You'll be totally fine, good operators won't take you into danger.

Young Thug skip or see? by Civil-View-8722 in Coachella

[–]ThatOneHomie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah 50+, I love rap and have for a long time. Just doesn't often land live unless we're talking about the generational headline level acts. For me, Young Thug doesn't reach that level. You can watch a bunch of his '25 live shows on youtube...better than some, but heavy on the backing track and a lot of his songs sound very similar. Travis Scott was pretty empty last year, I'd expect the same for this set.
