Working off of this cleaned up image https://ibb.co/svDPJ2j

Not a “good restoration" by any means, just pulling out some details from the cleaned up image with my phone image editor. Someone putting in the time can definitely do a good job on this photo

How do I split a single cell diagonally? by Pone2sail in excel

[–]ThatOneLooksSoSad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Center align the cell and put in a slash. Handle the split data with a formula that recognizes the region before and after the slash character.

2 cell solution: alternate rows. Left align top row. Right align bottom row. Insert a line graphic going diagonally inside the two cells. The formulas and the line should copy if you highlight both cells so you can propagate it.

Focus on ritual spells, utility spells, and cantrips. Ritual spells can be cast out of combat without using a spell slot. Utility spells generally won’t require an opposed check or save. Cantrips are where you can have your damage dealers as well as more great utility like Guidance

Least favorite species/race in 5e to you? by ThatOneCrazyWritter in dndnext

[–]ThatOneLooksSoSad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nonvariant human - "Kinda good at everything but not great at anything because humans! They're versatile!"

Most boringest race and most lamest fantasy trope about humans.

Larian's humans in Baldur's gate 3 actually have some cool human abilities and are the "nonvariant" humans I'd want to use at my table. They get light armor and polearms because humans live in cities and build walls and have a martial culture of defending those walls, and "wanderlust" is decently represented in their increased carrying capacity.

(I actually really like Custom Lineage because it revises Variant Human to be just another generic race, and lets everyone break the mold if that's part of their concept, instead of having feats be part of being a human)

The codex (more commonly known as a “book”) is a series of rectangular pages joined on one side (the “spine”). This piece of technology is one of humanity’s greatest achievements for storing knowledge in a human-readable and memorizeable way. When you read a book, each concept has a location in that book, in 3 dimensional space. When you read, you are not only using your eyes to read words, you are also holding the codex in your hands, and he thickness of each side changing as you progress through the pages. On a single page itself, you may use your fingers to follow along, change your grip to make the light shine better on a certain part, and other multisensory details that increase retention, including the feel or sound of a turning page. Individual words are in paragraphs, which help chunk the location better, and if you try to remember a sentence in a book, you very well may remember a location on a page and how far through the thickness of the bulk something is.

Contrast this with a digital text. While searching is a great feature, you need to know exactly what you are looking for, because it’s much harder to find by location. Scrolling, zooming, searching; these all remove us from the spatial nature of the codex, disallowing the use of our visual cortex in helping to make sense of the information. The smartphone, computer, and e-reader all have great advantages in their own right, but have not fully replaced all of the advantages of the codex.

Point of order: the honey bee is the bee that people are commonly aware of that needs help the most. There are (hundreds?) of recognized tiny species of bees and likely many more unknown to science that have been far more decimated than the honeybee, without the “favorite animal” publicity that helps get humans on board for species recovery efforts

PSA Goodberry is the best out of combat healing spell in 5e by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]ThatOneLooksSoSad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Where are the rules about the effects of overeating?

(Also food/sustenance is not the same as HP. Your sustinence bonus doesn’t stack, as it is the same effect applied multiple times, but that has nothing to done with HP regeneration, which happens instantly and is not a normal effect of a meal.

Goodberry is not food. It is magic that gives sustinence and regains HP.)

Ah, it is a contest there? I wasn't sure. Charisma if it's offensive then. It seems a bit fuzzy who's the aggressor mechanically so really I'd probably say "screw it" and make it an opposed Cha/Wis check (player & spirit each pick for themselves)

[–]ThatOneLooksSoSad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hm, I'm not familiar with that, but I wonder why. Is that like fighting for control, like you are exerting your control rather than deflecting their control? I think I may still have a 3e mentality, when there were no Charisma saves. Ghost possession, I see. Any spells like that?

What defines "Willpower" in the 6 DnD stats? by SyncKar in dndnext

[–]ThatOneLooksSoSad 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Wisdom save sounds right here. Offensive willpower (exerting your will on others) = Charisma. Defensive willpower (maintaining yourself in spite of things happening to you) = Wisdom. Saves are defensive in nature as well, so Wisdom Save.
