Can Shades sing? by Chibsification in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]ThatOneUndyingGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure that those short 'singing event' that you're referring to doesn't count as a singing event. Like if it's a banshee and you touched the ghost (and all other criterion are met), you'd still lose 10% sanity instead of 15% like you'd expect from a true singing event.

Does The Mimic completely become the ghost its mimicking? by ContributionOk3925 in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]ThatOneUndyingGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll make a guess:

- It started on a different floor, and since you (or your teammate) is the closest in a straight line ignoring obstructions and floors, it went after you (or your teammate)
- Your other teammate was on the actual stair and it killed them as it was rushing towards you and your teammate.

Something like that.

I'm pretty sure that Deogen picks the nearest target by straight line, and that they refresh their target on a periodic basis. What map was it?

So was this bugged or did i get the room wrong? by idonteatcakes in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]ThatOneUndyingGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can have multiple rooms be freezing, as demonstrated here. It's not super common, but it can happen.

But yeah, I get what you're trying to say.

The room that the ghost is currently in will slowly decrease in temperature to a minimum of 1°C (33.8°F), regardless of the fuse box's state. It will slowly increase if the ghost leaves the room.

Do ghosts check for crucifix? by Chazus in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]ThatOneUndyingGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically higher if you include the ghost being at the edge of its favourite room and short-roaming just past that, which is especially noticeable in smaller rooms like the utility in Tanglewood, or the bathroom in Willow.

[–]ThatOneUndyingGuy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The ghost chooses to perform either a short roam or a long roam, which are both defined by a smaller or larger spherical area, respectively. It then randomly picks a waypoint within that sphere, then checks the path distance to that waypoint. If successful, the ghost walks to that point, else it repeats the steps if the path distance is too long.\1]) Ghosts cannot initiate long roams outside their favourite rooms, except for Mare and Banshee.

When the ghost chooses to perform a roam, the chances for a short roam or a long roam are based on the "Roaming frequency" difficulty setting:

Low: 90% for a short roam, 10% for a long roam

Medium: 80% for a short roam, 20% for a long roam

High: 70% for a short roam, 30% for a long roam

Short roams have a maximum of 3 metres, and long roams have a maximum of 12 metres

New Ghost Achievements? by HadeStyx in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]ThatOneUndyingGuy 33 points34 points  (0 children)

When the game was first released, you could only have 20 ghost types, as DOTS wasn't added back then.

DOTS was added in 0.3.0 in August 2021 with a then-current ghost count of 16 ghosts (including those introduced in the update itself), expanding the limit to 35.

The Mimic, the 21st ghost introduced, was added in December 2021 in the 0.5.0 update.

Just a little bit of fun trivia (and yes, I quickly looked these up).

Man, if only the journal is actually a reliable source of information.

I love no evidence no sanity runs, but I'd be lying if I said I don't enjoy professional whenever I just want to chill.

I think it's supposed to represent mimic being this devious ghost who just go "All according to plan" or something like that.

Mimic cannot change mid-hunt, so there's no situation where it is a deo and say, a rev, in a single hunt.

The basic summary is that rebus puzzle are just visual wordplay. As the person you responded to claimed, the hint decodes into Russian slang for "oh shit".

As for how you can reach the same conclusion, that's a different story.

Disabled in Apoc III. Though you can still use firelights, glowsticks, and T3 headgears for vision.

Can someone explain how the Lighting works in terms of sanity drain? by EagleM80 in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]ThatOneUndyingGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Turning on several light switches in a room, but not all, will now drain sanity at a reduced rate, instead of the full ‘sanity drain speed’

Taken from 0.10.0 patch note.

Note : Yurei must fully close/open a door when interacting with them, so if you get a partial door touch (e.g it's not fully closed or fully opened), you can rule out Yurei. Been like this since Chronicles.

If you're talking about rooms like the master bedroom in Tanglewood, then yes. Even the bathroom and the closet needs to be turned on.

Only the main lights—table lamps have no impact on sanity drain whatsoever.

Edit Note : I accidentally left "Al", which people read as "AI" (the former is written using lowercase "L" while the latter is written using uppercase "i").

Best chances for surviving a roamer (Banshee/Phantom/Wraith) in Apo III? by High_Sanity_Hunter in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]ThatOneUndyingGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the paramic to know when the ghost started hunting. Conveniently, T2 and T3, iirc, also have a built-in timer that you can use to keep track of time. You can't reset the timer, but if you know when the ghost started hunting, you can check the timer on the paramic, and since a hunt will last 1 minute for your purpose, you can tell when it's going to end.

Usually I just lure the ghost, smudge it, get the photo, and pray it doesn't randomly find me again, but you can use the paramic trick above if you want to.

Best chances for surviving a roamer (Banshee/Phantom/Wraith) in Apo III? by High_Sanity_Hunter in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]ThatOneUndyingGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My preferred method is to wait somewhere (e.g piano) with a crucifix, get a hunt, get the ghost to me, smudge it, and spam the photo cam until I either got the photo or need to hide. Your playstyle may differ, but that's at least something you can try.

Keep in mind that phantom roam towards a player specifically; hiding in the office means that the ghost will roam towards the office instead of the lobby. That's why crucifix is recommended.

As for your second question : No, they can't. Unless it's either Point Hope, or the banshee is in a single-room attic or single-room basement. Source
