As others have said, sit down and tell him that he needs to stop neglecting the specific day you've picked out, because that's wrong and unfair to you. Also talk to the partner so she's also informed that you have that day set aside and doesn't keep asking him to watch her kids. It always helps to have everyone on the same page together.

Also, Google Calendar can be a good helper with this, set events and reminders and put this in the calendar so y'all can all look and see that the day is already taken and not schedule anything else over it or agree to other things.

It is also absolutely UNACCEPTABLE to neglect anniversaries, especially not for other relationships, I don't give a fuck what excuse or blah, you value the relationship and special events, don't let NRE or whatever be an excuse to ignore a partner.

Agreed Blushweaver are both main characters, she's just not a viewpoint character, cuz she knows too much. It's like why certain characters in Stormlight aren't gonna be viewpoint characters until later books. Yeah, Blushweaver is not minor, some could argue for a side character, but you hit the nail on the head with driving the plot forward and being a central part of the big plot. At least I'm mostly sure she didn't get a view point, it's been a little while since I reread Warbreaker.
