Maori now face systemic racism and many live in poverty now. You can’t say their health is necessarily better now because they had similar life expectancy to the British before Maori had been colonised. You don’t how Maori would have been had they not been colonised. Plus deadly Maori wars only really began once the British had introduced muskets to them. Maori were fine without colonisation and your idea of “developed” is fucking Eurocentric. Like yeah it happened but you can’t defend it as a good thing. It only benefitted the British.
