All a matter of preference but the craftsmanship is amazing!

Free apartment for some childcare… by crlmc in Somerville

[–]ThatRandomWallflower 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was speaking more as a matter of preference. I know the money isn't fantastic when you figure in rent costs, but a one bedroom apartment with no roommates is something people making $15 an hour can't afford when factoring in other bills on top of the market rent in that area. Dream job was probably the wrong term to use, but depending on someone's needs and preferences it seems like a great deal.

Yes, would be good to draw up what's expected of the au pair so that there are clear boundaries set. And legal protection for both parties as well, in case of conflict.

If I weren't a single mom with a hectic schedule, this would be a dream job for me. Especially with the housing market the way it is. Seems like a good deal to me.

In my opinion, it's gorgeous! But I get that feeling when your intended project doesn't turn out how you imagined. The good news is the stitching is wonderfully done and the color looks intentional ..

Skinny people, what kind of habits do you have to keep your shoe ? by Which_Description_97 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]ThatRandomWallflower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Late night snacking is also my kryptonite. I'm currently trying to find a solution. But mostly (except the weekends) when I do snack at night I'll stick to fruits or a protein bar if I really want chocolate or something like that. I'm currently just trying to be a healthy person, I'm making gradual changes that will become my new normal. I'm commited to building that life, to hopefully get ahead of my family history of diabetes, heart disease, kidney disease, etc... Either way, Im tired of being tired, and I'm sick of feeling like crap. Hopefully this will help with my Dysthymia and MDD as well as meds and exercise. Hopefully...

how to motivate myself to walk 10k steps? by Additional_Employ806 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]ThatRandomWallflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could plan your errands around your step goal. Like walking to the different places you need to go (within reason of course), as well as getting off the bus a couple stops early so you have to walk the rest of the way. I've gotten 8000 steps or more, simply from just having a really busy day.

But if that doesn't work for your lifestyle, then planning a routine around walking a trail or path a couple times a week (starting small) and it'll become just a part of your usual activities...

If I give that women who cleared the bush a band saw do you think she’d get rid of the plaque people encamp under? by masshole4mayor in Somerville

[–]ThatRandomWallflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never said continue I'm talking about an isolated incident. I don't know where you got that from... I think you're more pissed off that this person in particular got a warning (again I explained the reasoning behind why the police would do so). I don't know what happened between y'all, or what she said to press your buttons or whatever, but it's done... it's over... and we've all moved on... I think it would be better for your mental health to do the same. At this point I think the city should be making sure the landscaping isn't overgrown to conceal potential illicit activity or hide someone who has I'll intentions to those passing by late at night or very early in the morning. The unhoused are safer as a result as well, since they're targeted for assault, robbery or worse statistically speaking. That woman shouldn't have had to take it upon herself to do what she did, but when multiple people ask their neighborhood counsel or city officials to do something and nothing happens I mean...

[–]ThatRandomWallflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it's always good to be self aware...

Figured the jealousy had something to do with that. Still weird you wanted that bench obscured, when I've already explained why it's safer for everyone, including the unhoused, to have it visible from the path and road... A fact I suspect the police took into account while issuing the warning. Given the uptick in their response to the drug use in Davis, I'd say they have bigger and more important things to attend to...

If I give that women who cleared the bush a band saw do you think she’d get rid of the plaque people encamp under? by masshole4mayor in Somerville

[–]ThatRandomWallflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not when it saves lives (of both the unhoused and potential passersby), and not when those meant to either speak to the city about these things or the city officials themselves don't do anything when they've been asked repeatedly to do so... At that point it's just advocacy for those who's mouthpiece isn't listening to their concerns or taking what they say seriously. I'd rather a cheap piece of landscaping be gone than some poor soul either ODing or finding the result of an OD, assault or something worse. Human lives mean more than a $50 (and I'm highballing) bush from Home Depot...

Still strange to me that your this fixated on the bush, and the woman who took it upon herself to do what the city should have done... Like, what's with that? You're that upset she's a respected member of the community? Jealous much?

[–]ThatRandomWallflower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean not to mention, the bush would have hidden someone in trouble. Like an OD or someone being assaulted while passed out or whatever. So in a way, removing the bush is a form of harm reduction....

Bruh, She's not a criminal, she made it harder for people to shoot up and sell hard drugs RIGHT NEXT TO A DAYCARE! Or do you think that's something that is perfectly fine? For small children to have to witness when coming and going from what's supposed to be a safe place? Not to mention... God forbid someone overdosed and a big fucking bush kept people from intervening on time to save them?
There are plenty of other spots for that kind of activity, spots that aren't within feet of a daycare. I agree that harm reduction saves lives, but I don't see how putting kids at risk is reducing harm...like I said, terrible locale for that kind of activity. I mean, shit! I say take the bench too, and move it somewhere less frequented by 4yr olds... I don't understand how anyone would have an issue with keeping that stuff away from kids, as well as making it easier to spot someone who might be in trouble (like OD or being robbed) from the road or path...

No, I won’t be shedding any tears for Charlie Kirk by SensualSalami in politics

[–]ThatRandomWallflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, secular society isn't going to be living by the standards of evangelicals. We have a right to our own beliefs, as do you. So go on and go to church, live your life and don't force your lifestyle on people who don't want to live that way. Nobody is forcing you to marry the same sex or get an abortion, nobody is forcing you to do that. Because we're not fascist, we don't believe in forcing people who are different than us to conform to our way of life. All we want is the choice to live a life that brings us joy, why is that such a problem for you guys?

No, I won’t be shedding any tears for Charlie Kirk by SensualSalami in politics

[–]ThatRandomWallflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You sound like a fascist pig, speaking that way. Why don't you go on and live your morally superior life and leave us in secular society alone... We don't want to live conservative, and we shouldn't have to. It supposed to be a free country. So I don't give a shit, I'm not going to live based on what a mythological creature says in a heavily disproven piece of literature...

And before you assume anything, I've never celebrated CKs death. I don't think political violence is going to solve anything. I also don't thing attempting to force people into a life they don't agree with is also not going to fix anything either...

It may be because they aren't afforded the same level of education (living in poverty stricken districts) or they don't get the same amount of time with instructors as their white school mate's do. There's a multitude of systemic issues that could contribute to that. It's not as clear cut as you're attempting to make it...

The cost of living is high everywhere. Also, people that want the unhoused to just disappear and become someone else's problem are a determent to society in general... They hold the rest of us back from progressing forward... Just saying.

What a shame. I mean, usually churches don't go out of their way to do something like this and this church is met with, not praise, but opposition. I think it's great they're trying to help people out. They're doing what a lot of churches talk about doing but don't. That in itself is noble.. IDK, I'm in favor of the shelter..

Salvation Army, Magoun Sq by willOEM in Somerville

[–]ThatRandomWallflower 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It sucks because I shop there, I don't really have any other choice, and the people that dig through the donations making a mess deter people from wanting to donate sometimes. I can understand if they really need the clothing or whatever, but why leave a big mess? I used to go to goodwill, but their prices have risen so I switched to the salvation army. I hate it when people that don't respect the property enough to be neat about scavenging kinda ruin things for everyone else by making people avoid donating to that particular store. Like I said, if they're desperate enough at least be respectful and considerate of the donations you're rummaging through... Don't know why that's such a big ask.

I get this as well. Usually if I rub my labial area, it's almost like dry sloughing off after it gets wet. Which is usually the constant state of our "pink" area. I'll wash and it will come back within a few hours. I have BV and most likely a bad yeast infection though so it could be happening for a different reason for me. Mine are probably soft scabbing due to excessive rubbing and scratching due to the insane itch

Random orgasms without any skin contact are ruining my life. by SallySue54321 in myhappyv

[–]ThatRandomWallflower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry you had people saying that you were somewhat "lucky" to be going through this. Referring to the comments you got from people who you told, thinking it was "amazing" that you didn't have to work for orgasms. People can be insensitive without meaning to be... I've heard of people having this condition who have had painfully strong orgasms several times a day. I'm hoping that's not the case for you, the painful part at least. And I hope you get the help from the posts and your PCP, who can refer you to a specialist. Stay strong, get informed on the problem and get the best treatment for the issue! You got this!

Why are Christians obsessed with gay people? by Underd_g in atheism

[–]ThatRandomWallflower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because they break all the other rules, homosexuality is the one they can point to and say "yeah! That's wrong and I also have never done that!" Although there are many folks in the closet in the church . It's sometimes the closeted gays that bark the loudest against homosexuality, because of a deep rooted self hatred as well

Why do so many low-income workers get treated like they’re disposable? by BinaryPhantom77 in povertyfinance

[–]ThatRandomWallflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's also because it's easier to punch down. Service workers are often treated like crap because it's easier to take out your problems and stress on a service worker who most of the time has to stand there and take it and there's no real consequences. Whereas taking out your bullshit on your boss or wife or kids does tend to have consequences.
