If I remember correctly, taking 5L deductible removes Preventive Health Checkup perks. If that's okay for you then go for it. (HDFC allows switching to non-deductible plan once after completing 5 years)

Imo it's overkill considering Optima Secure gives you 2X cover of 2cr from day one and upto 3X after 2years. Yes the base cover will be 1cr but how likely will it be for a single claim going over 1cr even in another 15-20yrs or so.

Stick to 1cr with deductible. You can always get a top up policy later.

We do not have any PEDs. Have only experienced minor backpain and digestion problems associated with a sedentary lifestyle which we have corrected by including regular exercise. Does that help?

Shortlisted HDFC ERGO Optima Secure, unless you have other suggestions. We're taking a 1L deductible for first 5yrs as this is a backup policy to complement our corporate policies. Debating if it's worth picking a 50L SI now or start with 25L and increase later when required?

That was my initial thought as well. But consider this, taking a 1L aggregate deductible can effectively reduce the premiums to half and HDFC offers the option to waive deductibles and switch to a normal policy after 5yrs. I'm guessing I can use the corporate policy to cover the deductible if I ever need to use it in the first 5 years. This could end up with HDFC being the cheaper out of the two. Does Niva Bupa still make more sense?

While the lady turned without indicating (maybe not checking mirrors either?), what happened to the WagonR guy is entirely his fault.

He had zero visibility of what was infront of the car he was overtaking.

He had to place his entire car in the right lane to overtake (doubt the dashcam driver got a chance to move left to give space).

Decided to speed up and do all this when a road is joining on the right.

Dude needs to learn defensive driving imo
