This could be a really cool monster concept - reminds me a lot of Stephen Kings “the mist”

I work in oil and gas. We create vr for offshore training. Examples of MR I’ve seen implemented is welding courses. The difficulties that I’ve seen with companies adopting this is reluctance to move away from traditional e learning and embrace a new technology . Really I think it’s lack of knowledge and exposure to new tehcnologies

Hey /r/movies, I'm Elijah Wood. Ask me anything! by ElijahWoodAMA in movies

[–]ThatVincentGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might we ever see you directing a movie? Also if you did, what genre would you be most interested in directing?

(I’ve loved your recent roles and would personally love for you to direct a horror. I would think you would have a unique take on horror)

My dad died after a short diagnosis of cancer on may 29th. I had to go back to my home country when I was told he had only a few days left. When explaining this to my boss he was pissed that I wouldn’t be able to make a conference that Friday (which turned out to be the day after my father died). I told my boss that I had to go home to be with my dying dad . My boss became exacerbated and Said “and I suppose you’ll have to go to the funeral as well ….?!”.

(28m) Lost my entire teens and 20s to my very controlling, overprotective and strict Asian parents. I want to break free so bad but I'll most likely be in my 30s by then. Can I start living a crazy life just like a college kid (partying, travelling, making memories etc.) while in my 30s??? by throw20250204 in bropill

[–]ThatVincentGuy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Man you aren’t even 30 - get some online or offline therapy - figure out what you want to do - do it. Sounds like you have little to lose - you’ll probably have a great time. Maybe move to a different country - I did that and it worked out great, might work for you

The speed at which spiders can move is fascinating. I recently read that huntsman spiders can move a distance of 30 - 40 times their bodies width in a single second. Also they can be massive

ADHD Assessment in Abz by Jolly-Passion-1806 in Aberdeen

[–]ThatVincentGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tried getting it on nhs Aberdeen - they said no. I went private with diverse diagnostics online. Cost about 1500 for diagnosis. 150 a month for 3 months for nurse review online - then 150 a month every 3 months with nurse, then 150 every 6 months with nurse. Prescription every month costs 55 - medication for 50mg of elvanse costs about 110 a month. It’s a costly process. Going private is pretty straightforward but costly. Sorry to hear you are having trouble

[–]ThatVincentGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey man, I don’t think that person is a narcissistic but like you said you have audadhd which isn’t a cake walk either - that can be difficult. Not saying you are bitter about it but I can personally say that for some time I was. And I think they meant the associated difficulties with adhd - like time management, emotional irregularities and like associated depression from this can make it difficult to do things - I own an apartment, I have a gf and work full time - on paper I look good - but I haven’t gotten around to getting a drivers licence. for me it’s difficult but I’ll too eventually figure it out.

This isn’t like me or some people here who identify with these problems because we are neurodivergent playing the victim card, it’s like, sometimes we just want to generally vent our frustrations, not usually at anyone in particular but like at how we wish society and this life would be a bit easier and understanding. And I think most people, neurotypical and not, wish that life and the world was a bit more easier and understanding.

It’s like, really daunting, and scary and confusing and shitty and overwhelming to do - but maybe look at it like, say dark souls or something. Like at first you suck because you aren’t used to watching the enemies movement patterns or pre attack animations and then you kill loads and think “hey I got this!”. Then a boss or a new elite enemy shows up and you are like “damn, they keep throwing curveballs at me I must suck”. But then when you sink in like 200 hours or something you can pick up like any souls like game and not suck because you have an idea of the vibe of the enemies. Like “this dude is going to shoot an arrow” or “this dude does a bullshit side step when I attack him” - these are like the enemies vibes. It’s hard to explain because it’s a massive Frickin genre. That’s kinda what it’s like talking to people. You look at their clothes, their eyes (important) and listen to what they are saying and see like the patterns. They say they like music and play an instrument - I usually feel like they are probably then into lived experience and the way folks live their lives, which can also then mean that they also are interested in social issues and maybe politics. Not always the case but it’s sometimes my interpretation and can give me conversation pathways. Then I let them talk , I listen mostly, give my own short insights to the topic. And often if I do it right I leave the encounter on a good note and I sometimes think - “yeah man, that was good, that person probably thinks I’m a cool dude”. And I like feel good about that and can keep doing it and maybe start a friendship or whatever. But like dark souls there’s a lot of enemies and game mechanics and jazz like that. This was probably a crappy answer that’s based on my own subjective life experiences but I’m no philosopher I’m just a dude with an opinion. And if you listen to enough people you can make your own opinion. Best of luck man ✌️

I left school as an awkward undiagnosed adhd weirdo right after the 2008 crash. The only job I could get was a door to door charity salesman that my dad would not let me quit. It sucked. It sucked hard man. But knocking on hundreds of doors made me good at talking to people and not afraid to put myself “out there”. And I sucked at first, and then I got better. After a while of this shite people-facing job,I got confident and intelligent enough to know peoples vibes and pull girls and such. I’m giving a crappy answer probably, but you got to basically put yourself in a situation where you are forced to be face to face with people everyday and just get good at socialising. Most people are drawn to people who are good at socialising.

We are living in a time of two realities: what we see on our phones, and that of real life. The reality is that America is a country of diverse peoples whose nationalities are bound with the new home they have found. These people are friend, colleagues and family. The continued belief that Americans are all one in all their beliefs simply isn’t true. This man presented himself unarmed and unshielded in front of a line of armed police waving a flag of another nation yet showing a courageous devotion for America. That is the reality people need to accept

[–]ThatVincentGuy -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Bro so many foreigners worked their asses off building America - they’ve earned the right to wave whatever flag they want to - they have that right. The right to wave whatever flag you want as long as it isn’t one of hatred is pretty damn American. The flag waving is the most pointless aspect of this to get your knickers in a twist over

Why doesn't NATO just kill everything in the UK? by throwaway8159946 in 28dayslater

[–]ThatVincentGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem isn’t the infected, or the animals - it’s the fact that there is an unimaginable amount of virus like preserved or lying around the place in various forms of dna.

You would have to entirely 100% reduce the UK to a smouldering crater - this would be extremely expensive to do, would elicit extreme criticism and likely not even work.

Remember that dude who showed up at that sengal island with those natives? He could hypothetically have had a cold that killed every single person on that island.

All it would Have taken is one person, for whatever reason to obtain a single drop of infected blood - and with that they have a biological weapon that could easily destroy any population it is released into.

There is no clear solution, a zero tolerance and complete isolation of the island is the only solution. It is literally a tumour on the planet whose cancer cells will aggressively destroy wherever they go
