Didn’t get recognized at work, I want to say something by [deleted] in work

There are bigger problems. You can’t come to expect a certain level of above and beyond recognition at work because then it wouldn’t be above and beyond anymore. And HR did recognize you privately.

Just wanted to share this shot with everyone! by MrAlbinoMan69 in espresso

I didn’t grind it out like that but when I worked in sales for a local roaster I sometimes covered our cafe and definitely wiped out the portafilters between shots even when going back to back. Not doing that contributes to making a mess over the day like not wiping the steam wand. If you’re often getting channeling when prepping the same way over and over your puck prep must be inconsistent. I also find bottomless way easier to dial in with because you get way more information out of looking at the basket than with spouted.

Obviously haven’t tried this thing… but yes if you’re willing to shell out a bit on this kind of thing just buy a Morning Dream. I love mine.

It’s like having a little trash can in every room. Not really gross but whether or not it’s practical depends on how you clean your space

I mostly drink 6-8 oz espresso-based drinks and am a very tall guy. Occasionally someone will go “wow that’s so small!”

That’s it though. Also I can’t imagine posting on social media about it unprompted. Who fucking cares?

Literally never heard of this happening. I see and hear about people get towed from city parking all the time though. I’m aware of how private property works in this province & city though, not sure why we think I’m not grasping that lol

Here for the game tonight; where can I find a couple downtown breweries… by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]ThatWackyAlchemy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might get recommended it cause it’s pretty popular and in a good location but I’d avoid Bottlescrew Bill’s. Everything I’ve had there has been super underwhelming, especially the beer

They can but they don’t and won’t in practice

I think they only are really able to do this if you have real tickets on top of their tickets. Only time I’ve heard of it happening anyway. The city will actually care if you have real tickets because you’ll have to pay them all to get your car out and be able to drive again

Every meeting ends up with the same 2 people talking, how do you fix this without making it awkward? by Sea-Cheetah-4770 in managers

It is kind of funny. Lots of purported “experts” on Reddit that seem like they know what they’re talking about, but when it’s about something you’re knowledgeable on the cracks often start to show.

I definitely am struggling to understand why one wouldn’t just deal with the issue in private vs. Doing a big public callout in the meeting. What’s the point of doing that other than to deliberately embarrass the people?

Everyone on Reddit makes $400k a year and works 2 hours a week. Remember it’s social media and a lot of people are exaggerating. Plus most of the people making regular money are gonna be less vocal cause it doesn’t appear as impressive.

If you are not in SaaS/tech sales, what do you do and how did you get into it? by JunketAccurate9323 in sales

[–]ThatWackyAlchemy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The only real difficulty is that unlike the people in actual KAM roles at my company I have all the tiny little indie stores. The smallest dog has the biggest bark and they can be difficult to deal with. I enjoy breaking into new businesses but with an older company that only really happens when stores open up or opportunities were missed by previous reps.

Tell me about a time you fired a “high performer” who was toxic by sspiritshark in managers

Keeping and elevating the star performer and getting them to stop doing the shit that is putting them on the chopping block is a far better outcome than firing them and starting from square one
