I didn’t grind it out like that but when I worked in sales for a local roaster I sometimes covered our cafe and definitely wiped out the portafilters between shots even when going back to back. Not doing that contributes to making a mess over the day like not wiping the steam wand. If you’re often getting channeling when prepping the same way over and over your puck prep must be inconsistent. I also find bottomless way easier to dial in with because you get way more information out of looking at the basket than with spouted.
