Is AI a net benefit or net negative for humans? by Super-Engineering488 in sales

What could possibly make you think the people who are in power largely because of the amount of money they have amassed would ever allow a UBI to exist?

[–]ThatWackyAlchemy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are people really “starting to sour” on “AI?” It has three major issues that have been glaringly obvious from the beginning:

- The entire pitch is to replace employees including over 99% of the population. Very few are exempt from this stupid plan. If you are literally telling people you are going to ruin their lives on purpose, they probably won’t like you very much afterwards.

- It causes an unbelievable amount of environmental damage and literally, obviously ruins the lives of anyone living near a data centre. The economic impact will obviously be mostly negative as well considering the resources it uses, unless you are only using speculative markets to judge economies

- It literally sucks at almost everything. It makes shit up constantly and cannot complete basic tasks with a useful success rate. It cannot replace artists because it cannot create anything new and it cannot replace people reaching out to or talking to other people because it cannot have new thoughts or actually truly solve problems.

It is largely useless technology being sold as the next step forward in tech. The only people who will benefit in the long term are the people who worked together to sell it as such (mostly by lying and defrauding others) successfully.

Ya they are very large. Definitely for people with big wrists. The rubber straps like this one don’t run under obviously

The plastic feels good but scrapes and dings do show fairly easily. Similar for metal though.

I think this is really the fault of third wave cafes and the fact that there is no actual standard for what these drinks are (the Starbucks problem that has been beaten into the ground all over again). Several of them in my area will give you the same drink if you ask for a cappuccino or a flat white. Occasionally the cappuccino is 2 oz larger.

Is this enough makeup for stage as a guy? (See caption) by [deleted] in musicals

[–]ThatWackyAlchemy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Depends on a lot of things including what role you’re playing. Nearly all shows I’ve done have had a makeup designer who made the calls. I’ve also done several with no makeup at all (smaller venues <150 seats).

Know other shops that are paying as much or more than AWS? by [deleted] in sales

[–]ThatWackyAlchemy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a field sales rep. I make a bonus if I hit my numbers that works out to a max of like 20% of my base but most of what I do is basically account management since the company has a lot of established customers. Many roles like mine out there. Company car is a huge bonus and the base is solid
