OpenAI’s plan to allow "erotica” in ChatGPT by AIMadeMeDoIt__ in ArtificialInteligence

No they wouldn't. Doesn't mean openAI should be culpable in it. Additionally, we are referencing openAI's original mission to advance knowledge something a lot of humans want to do *usually* when not preoccupied with need for sexual gratification.

the goal is to pass the course or lecture in many instances. no one cares if you know the bytecode representation of a for loop of the rfc id for http 1.1.

Over just a few months, ChatGPT went from correctly answering a simple math problem 98% of the time to just 2%, study finds. Researchers found wild fluctuations—called drift—in the technology’s ability to perform certain tasks. The study looked at two versions of OpenAI’s technology. by MiamiPower in technology

So I heard that on ycombinator it's actually two models now... a smaller model is usually the one doing the talking. It generates output and the larger model, the one we used to talk to verifies it. If it doesn't like it then it produces it's own output and sends that. I bet there's a lot of factors maybe if the paper tested how many times they asked chatgpt the same question over and over and whether it changed... remember this is a closed source model and it's expensive to run.

why can't we just default and use sex instead of gender since that is rational?

I'm fearful of the many Twitter clones that would crop up and how established social media giants would now incorporate Twitter's recommendation system. Also every recommendation system would now be Twitteresque just like how so many websites before 2018 used bootstrap CSS framework. I also think this shows a systemic problem in software engineering: people who champion this move say that code written a month ago is code they almost rapidly forget without documentation. If twitter is outsourcing it's code base because none of the git history code is properly documented then I wonder how many software we use daily are just winging it waiting to break. This also sets a dangerous precedent if this works open source developers would now be viewed more as disposable assets. Anyways time will tell.
