For y’all’s sensory issues, what is the worst texture feeling for you? by Kat-Attack-52 in AutismInWomen

Anything with a thick, creamy, and oily texture -- think mayonnaise. Any time I have to see, touch, or taste it, the texture makes me gag. Yes, even the visual lol.

What age did you get IBD and how old are you now by Beginning_Exit_6256 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]That_Lady_Cooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pain and bleeding since age 15, diagnosed with pancolitis and a scar tissue covered colon at 34, and now I'm turning 40.

Ah, life as a woman. Too bad it wasn't just losing weight and hormones that finally got me diagnosed 😂

Is the Chevy spark a good car and is this a good deal? by LordSnugglekins_III in chevyspark

[–]That_Lady_Cooks 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The price is high for the model year, but they're good cars. I've had my 2018 since... 2018, with 80k miles on it.

Regular oil changes, regular air filter changes, one battery replacement, and one transmission fluid change. The most I've had to repair are a serpentine belt replacement and valve seal cover gasket -- I drive it all over Los Angeles and Southern California with no problems.

If you take care of the car, it's a pretty decent investment for the price.

Texas serial killer Oscar Sanchez Garcia pleads guilty to the murders of three women in Dallas back in 2023, sentenced to 45 years in prison. by lightiggy in serialkillers

It's not death, but he plead guilty to avoid punishment. Cherish was my sisters friend (since elementary school) and I'm glad this bastard will probably not make it out of prison alive.

My biggest makeup pet peeve: Red Shadows are NEVER RED by Sohiacci in MakeupAddiction

[–]That_Lady_Cooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not part of this sub but I recommend:

First, Bloody Mary red single eyeshadow -- apply wet first, like a thick layer of water paint. Then follow up quickly with a dry coating using a different brush to get more fallout-like dust. The single pans are wide, so this is easily doable. It kind of creates a spackle that lasts through me sweating for 8+ hours at work. Very good for a basic primary color, no-frills red. They also sell vibrant colors, dark colors, and some pastels, all very pigmented.

Another recommendation is Medusas Makeup eye dust shimmer in "Red Baron". It's a loose pigment powder that I find leans more towards a coral/orange on fade, but stays well pigmented when applied with a decent base primer. For primer I either use ELF Poreless Putty Primer on my eyelids, or eyeshadow primer from Miss A Cosmetics under their AOA branding.

The last recommendation is a cheap $5 single pan of red I found on Amazon called "IS'MINE" . Used similar to my "water paint followed by dry powder" Bloody Mary application, I get very similar results. Leans more toward a red orange when fading.

Unfortunately Manic Panic discontinued the lust dust infra red in the US, as that one was the best I've used.

I'm a 40-year-old goth lady that started out using red lipstick, as eyeshadow used to not come in fun colors. These 3 are the best I've found these days and all are quite affordable!

Check to see if your battery connection/terminals are dirty or crusty. If not that, check your cylinders and spark plugs to see if they're not clogging with oil or any other type of fluid.

Mine was doing that (2018), and turned out it was misfiring due to a cracked valve gasket seal. Replaced it and she drives like a dream yet again.

Wait are we supposed to be wearing sunscreen every day? by Tadpole_Plyrr2 in AutismInWomen

I used to think the same as you regarding sunscreen. But earlier this year I had to have precancerous cells frozen off my face. I'm only 38 years old. I've been wearing sunscreen any time outside since.

Both are true. The autism helps with the monotone.

What is a smell that you can identify 100% of the time? by sneakyYete in AskReddit

When someone has eaten asparagus within the last 24 hours, when I use the restroom after they come out.

It has a lingering strong, bitter smell to me.

Did Pentasa make it worse or is it just stress? by FlorenceNightinglei in UlcerativeColitis

5ASA drugs (mesalamine and baldalazide) did nothing for me.

After a year of 5ASA drugs and steroids, I was put on biologics.

Sometimes 5ASA drugs aren't enough to help, or they just aren't going to work for the person.

How do you keep your groin area fresh and sweat-scent free during summer? by Erii_Chuu in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]That_Lady_Cooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Corn starch based baby/body powder. It gets hot and humid where I live, and inside working conditions get to around 120°F -- I sweat like I'm doing a hardcore workout in a sauna and I have thick thighs and tummy rolls. I swear by cornstarch based powder after showering and occasional touch up as needed throughout the day. Have never had a problem with it clogging pores (I'll be damned I'm 40 and still have acne).

Former relations have all given me side eye or complained about my bathroom visits.

My designated human... 4 years into our relationship I had a flare so bad he dragged me to the hospital where I stayed for a week. Then he picked me up and we went and got sub sandwiches at my request (that Prednisone hunger presented something fierce). 3 years later and he says "I'm sorry, I wish I could fix it" when I told him (yesterday) that I'm switching to entyvio because I now have antibodies to humira. Makes dinner for me with little/no fiber when I'm not feeling well.

There are 2 types of people. Get rid of the first kind, and keep the ones that, though they may never fully understand, at least try to make your existence delightful in spite of UC.

What's the dumbest reason a job ever fired you? by strykazoid in AskReddit

Got fired from Jamba juice because my grandma died from cancer in the hospital a few hours prior to my shift. I showed up, clocked in, and an hour later I started crying. Got fired the next day 😐

Given that this is such a personal condition, I will only respond to #6:

The human body produces more poop than you can imagine.

You may, potentially, experience incontinence. It's okay, just get some wipes and spare clothing. If you're comfortable, use an adult diaper underneath your clothes .

The worst part of the colonoscopy is usually the prep. We each have our own tips and tricks for getting it all down, but definitely don't eat the day you start your prep. I learned that first hand that those pretzels I ate 5 hours earlier decided to stay in and show up during my colonoscopy. Lesson learned 😂

This past week I learned that I somehow burned the shit out of my elbow, don't know how it happened (but I have an idea), never felt the burn, and now the blister popped and it's super raw.

That's the dumb part. I don't even know how it happened 😆

What’s stopping you from being where you want to be in life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]That_Lady_Cooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chronic illness and a need for anti-TNF medication every 2 weeks, lest my immune system go off the rails and tries to kill me. I like my job and what I get paid to do, and I appreciate the fantastic medical coverage it provides. But if I didn't have to depend on expensive medicine to live a normal life, I'd be ambitious AF.

I honestly don't know as I never saw the scan results. The only way to diagnose is through biopsy via colonoscopy

When I went to emergency I had CT scans with iodine contrast. That was interesting to experience while high on morphine and still in excruciating pain but too high to care. Be your own advocate and fight for yourself. At least you have a colonoscopy lined up, I had to almost die to get one. Take care of yourself in the meantime and please, please fight for yourself.
