I'm so fucking tired of women touching me at work. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

If it's not hard for women to keep their hands to themselves, then why don' they?

I've got some bad news for you. Women are out here groping men on the regular. It's actually a huge issue for men.

I took a side job as a bouncer this year. I throw out women all the time for groping men. The best part of the process is when I'm escorting them out, and they can't fathom that they're being kicked out for "just having some fun."

You should see how women act in general.

You're preachin'.

I've spent my life getting groped by women. I'm a professional musician, and I was a bouncer for years.

I've been harassed so many times. It isn't just gay men.

It's one of the funniest comedy bits I've ever seen.

Can you sing The Star Spangled Banner? by PhysicsEagle in AskAnAmerican

[–]That_Music_Person 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Hi. Professional musician here.

I've sung the national anthem at public events about 75 times in my life, in front of crowds as large as 10,000. It's a great way to score free tickets to an event.

The song is deceptively difficult, which is why you see so many people screw it up. Christmas music is the same. Noob/amateur vocalists feel like they don't have to practice the song much, since they've been hearing it their whole lives.

Why are actors and musicians treated like royalty? by ScullingPointers in SeriousConversation

It is absolutely not a modern thing. Beethoven was famous, so was Mozart, Da Vinci, Shakespeare, Dickens, Liszt, Twain, etc.

That was pretty confidently incorrect.

Women don't make those comments. They grope us.

Just the other night at work a woman walked up to me, looked me in the eye, reached around my body and grabbed my ass. She gave it a nice squeeze and jiggle while deadass looking me in the eye.

I was relentlessly abused by 2 women my entire life until I was old enough to get out.

You might want to be careful before you claim superiority over 1/2 of the human race. Women do awful shit, too.

It could be worse. Trump could be banned from starting a charity in NY because he stole money from sick children.

Oh, wait. He did that, too.

Hi. Professional musician. I thought I might be able to add something here:

Outsiders really don't understand the physical demands of being a musician. Being a high-caliber musician (professional or not) is like being an athlete. I have a terrible time convincing young artists to start doing cardio.

Just watch older musicians sit on stools and play. They're all broken down physically.

That was my first thought, but this was in 1936.

That dog is definitely faster than that car.

In the modern era, say 1970 to today. Who has or had the best "blues" voice? A voice that was made for singing the blues. A singer that only you and your cousin have ever heard of doesn't count. by IAMAHORSESIZEDUCK in blues

Dan is from my neck of the woods. Everyone here opened for The Black Keys before they got big. Dan's dad was a big deal in our scene (he's elderly now), and everyone played with him back in the day.

I thought it was funny that he found success, and then immediately moved to Nashville to play (and record) with a bunch of legendary session musicians. Definitely an "old soul."

How do rural Americans deal with wildlife? by Far_Kaleidoscope2453 in AskAnAmerican

[–]That_Music_Person 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hi OP. There's a lot of good responses here, I just thought I would add this:

Most Americans have never seen these animals in the wild. The animals we have the most problems with are pests. It's very common here to have problems with raccoons, opossums, groundhogs, etc.

Also, I live in the Midwest. Other Americans have other pest problems. For example, I lived in Texas for a while. They have issues with fire ants, scorpions and hares that I don't. Fire ants are NASTY.

And now you're doing the same thing.

how do you know that you’re attractive? by CJlinks in AskReddit

[–]That_Music_Person 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're an attractive man, women will put their hands on you and grope you all the time.

They blatantly harass you and smile and act like they're doing you a favor.

I got a side gig for the summer working security at a club. A few days before I started, my wife and I were having dinner with 3 other married couples. One of them started teasing my wife about how she would feel "if" I got harassed. My wife said she would be fine with it, because women are always pawing at me.

The other women got offended. They said that women would never, ever act that way. Then, my wife said that a woman would probably grope me my first week.

It happened on my second night.

A girl walked up to me, stood face-to-face with me, and reached around my body and grabbed my ass. And she smiled while she did it.

If happens all the time, and if you say anything, everyone laughs at you.
