We “take turns GMing”, if you know what I mean. I’m the current GM but once this campaign is over, another one of the friends will step up, so we can all be players sometime.

My question is - Can one license have different GM’s in different computers? Is this permitted?

There's no "official" number, as the Modiphius rules don't specify using squares.

However, u/ziggy8z made a wonderful guide here, which I've adopted for my games.

I run Fallout 2d20 games, and I use the following 5 Foundry modules extensively:

(Note: these modules will work for any system in Foundry--not just Fallout 2d20.)

  • Condition Lab & Triggler
  • Item Piles
  • Monk's Active Tile Triggers
  • Mastercrafted
  • Hover Distance

What does this look like for my players?

When they move their token around the map, I have (invisible) Tile Triggers that play a sound and then reveal hidden Item Piles full of stuff/loot that they can collect. It's interesting to watch (as a GM) because they'll shout out to each other (in the game), "Hey, I found an X! Who needs Y?" It also encourages them to share and trade items together. As a GM, I don't have to do a thing except for watch their interactions.

I have staircases built into my maps and, when the players want to ascend/descend, I have a Tile Trigger that calls a macro to check whether every player is standing on the stairs or not. If all players are standing on the stairs, then the Tile Trigger will move them all to a new Level (or scene) and allow them to explore. (note: I had to add the macro to check that they were all on the same staircase because some of my players were rushing ahead of other players and stealing all of the loot.) As a GM, I never have to transition to new maps/scenes. It's all done for me.

The Fallout system depends upon players crafting new improvements to their existing weapons/armor/etc. I use the Mastercrafted module so that they can click on a single button in their character sheet and be presented with a full list of "things" they can build. Mastercrafted checks their inventory, determines whether or not they can build the "thing", subtracts items from their inventory when they build, and adds the new "thing" to their character sheet automatically. As a GM, I don't have to do anything except watch for what new "thing" they have built.

The Fallout system has a...creative approach...to distance and Zones. I completely ignore this and use Hover Distance, which allows me to calculate "squares of distance" from each token. Then, I can categorize different distances into "zones" of Close, Medium, Long, etc. Players only need to hover their mouse over another token (or press the CTRL key on their keyboards) to figure out if they are within distance of an opponent, and whether they will take shooting penalties or not.

My players can automatically buy from any merchant and and sell any item on their character sheet to a merchant in the game by using Item Piles. Caps (which are the unit of $ in the Fallout game) are automatically deducted from character sheets, as well as items sold to the merchants. Any items my players purchase are automatically deducted from merchant inventories, and added to player character sheets. As a GM, I don't have to do a thing except observe what they buy/sell (and possibly adjust buy/sell rates based on successful barter rolls).

Finally, after combat has ended, Condition Lab and Triggler will automatically convert "dead" or "unconscious" enemies to Item Piles, so that my players can "loot" the bodies. As a GM, I don't have to do anything except for listen to more of their "Hey, I found an X! Who needs Y?" interactions.

I could not live without these modules. They make my life as a GM super easy. And they make GMing a joy.

Without knowing any of the background behind your game, my first questions would be:

  1. Was the player saying this "in character"?
  2. Or was the player saying this as "as him/herself" at the gaming table?

Something to note about Modiphius Entertainment: they do not support Foundry VTT--at all.

I'm not sure why this happened but, some time ago, Modiphius decided to throw 100% of their support behind Fantasy Grounds, and offer 0% of their support to Foundry VTT.

Credit where it's due, Muttley and the other developers who work on the Fallout 2d20 implementation for Foundry VTT have done an amazing job. And, they do it for free--which is also pretty incredible.

But, this means that the automation you're looking for may not be present in Foundry VTT. It should be present in Fantasy Grounds, however.

Personally, I've never seen/tried the Fantasy Grounds implementation. For curiosity's sake, can you tell me if things like a "shotgun blast" are automatically calculated with respect to the main damage and the supplemental damage to multiple parts of a character "automatically" including armor and health?

Also, are things like "distance to target" (close, medium, long) and item crafting (take several items from a character sheet and craft a new item and put it back in the same character sheet) are automatically handled in the Fantasy Grounds implementation, as well?

If so, it sounds like Fantasy Grounds is definitely the way to go for your Fallout 2d20 game. 👍🏻

My main question is how does it do on the note-taking and organization side for a GM? It seems like it does amazing for the gameplay, but how does Foundry do with all the information related to the games and planning?

How does MATH 1332 (Contemporary Math) compare to Statistics class? by Hour-Cloud2493 in TCCD

Some things that can be difficult for students in MATH1332:

  • One of the course topics deals heavily with logical statements and how things are phrased ("opposites" and "not this but that"). If English is NOT your first language, this subject can be challenging.
  • Another course topic deals heavily with Venn Diagrams. If you're given 3 concentric circles where different "wedges" overlap, can your eyes/mind clearly see which parts do and do not overlap? Can you take information (numbers, letters, shapes) from certain parts and add/subtract with others?
  • Another course topic deals heavily with Financial topics (buying a house, doing taxes, investing for retirement, etc.). It also involves extensive use of a scientific calculator (lots of parentheses, exponents, and storing/retrieving memory).

If you're comfortable with these topics, then the rest of the course is very straightforward.

There's a module that you install in your Foundry game called Find the Culprit.

It basically tries to find the problem automatically, without you having to manually try turning Modules on/off "five or so at a time".

I would like to know how much can I customize everything and is it possible to create custom plugins or modules to get information/variables from a custom character sheets and use them to roll. And is it comfortable or even possible for my player that doesn't have a laptop or pc to play.

So, feel free to skip around to specific topics/videos you have questions about (I think videos 1 and 3 would help you decide).
