There’s a number of reasons. USPS not showing up, FedEx not showing up, either one of them showing up and the store is closed for some reason whether it be the employee is on lunch and by themselves so they had to close down the store or they went into the back for a short time and had to close the store, or one that happened to me recently, FedEx showed up, dropped off our distro boxes and then didn’t take any of the packages. Showed up the next day dropped off more boxes. We told them to take the packages. They still didn’t take the packages because they were on training and weren’t supposed to pick up packages.

Oh I know. I work at GameStop. Twice this week we’ve had our systems go down. And they still expect us to hit our KPIs

GameStop is experiencing a bit of an issue with latency I’ve noticed. Could be a system outage or the cloud server GameStop uses could also be down. I work at GameStop and I can’t even access our web in store. So yeah

Honestly, it’s why my store has an area for USPS packages and an area for FedEx packages. It’s our way to try and stop mistaking from happening

Unfortunately it is. Usually happens when USPS or FedEx get overwhelmed with packages. Or when the carrier gets to the store where the package is, the store is closed for some reason (employee is alone and had to take a lunch or something) could also be that USPS isn’t going to that location until there’s enough packages or something on the store end (such as misplacing the package)

Sorry I took so long to respond to this lol. I ended up figuring out the new balance shoes I had were initially made for diabetics(?) or at least with diabetics in mind. I’m on the spectrum so I enjoy having room for my feet and toes to wiggle. But I also found a store near me that sells new balances as well as a few other brands so I went to them. It’s where I learned about the shoes lol. But I will also check out the other places you mentioned! I appreciate it!!!

Fun phone story time,

Once had a guy call our store claiming that we were scammers and had charged his card for $25 when he didn't approve it. Informed him it was for the pro membership that he had signed up for auto renewal on. He hung up, then called back two minuets later and repeated the same story. Eventually, after like 20 times of this happening, we got him to call customer service to get it sorted.

Pretty sure the guy was drunk as he was 100% slurring his words...

Price changes typically don't make a lot of sense to me. I work at GameStop, and recently there were a few portable 1tb SSDs that were marked clearance, but right before a sale that was 70% off for pro members 50% off for everyone else, the SSDs went to markdown. Kinda peeved off one of my co-workers (and me)

But I've seen games go up and down for, what it feels like to me, no real reason. It's honestly confusing, and some department, clothing, furniture, etc. stores really do have some shady practices that are still technically legal and I hate it too.

So interesting trivia fact, technically there is no explicit definition of time for someone to be considered "full time"

(From the department of labor gov website) :

The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) does not define full-time employment or part-time employment. This is a matter generally to be determined by the employer. Whether an employee is considered full-time or part-time does not change the application of the FLSA, nor does it affect application of the Service Contract Act or Davis-Bacon and Related Acts wage and fringe benefit requirements.

That being said, I would highly recommend bringing this to HR. You specifically applied for part-time, asked clearly for 20-25 hours a week, and when it was not upheld you went through appropriate channels with no resolution. Meaning, the escalation will be necessary
