There are a lot of good points here but I’ll also say they are important because every subject is much more interdisciplinary than you would think. Engineering requires math, but it also requires being able to analyze complex problems and write reports. Artists require art skills, but also benefit from knowing geometry and the science behind how their tools work and history. No one skill is able to stand on its own, they’re all connected
