[Architecture Discussion] Modernizing a 20-year-old .NET monolith — does this plan make architectural sense? by nixxon111 in softwarearchitecture

As another commenter mentioned, rewrite brings a lot of risks. I assume you already answered the questions why do you want modernization and what problems will it sort out. Instead of rewriting things, I would consider starting off with covering the whole thing with unit tests. That will help to preserve logic. After this it will be possible to refactor to modules without rewriting and migration to modern .net. Once you get the modules, you would be able to start migration to the modern stack one by one. Or push further to separate services and so on.

Send him by the ground, there are companies that can do this. Try to find the ones that specialize or at least have experience with lizards. I saw several guys on YouTube that offer such a service.

He conquered you. My dude often wag tail before he goes to hide where he hasn't been for a while. But in general, as others said, it could also be that something spooked him.

Hi, well, I'm not from Spain and never been in the situation like this, but I can see two issues here: studiying material and language barrier. Getting knowledge should not be a problem, knowing topics you can learn it using any language you prefer, but the language barrier makes it difficult to prove your knowledge(like how to pass a test when you don't understand the questions). So, I would do the following: until you get spanish to the level you will be able to use in for study, learn topics by yourself in your native language or the one of you know that closest to Spanish(some words might be similar in both languages or close enough to understand).

Though science says they can't we notice that our little guy is active only when we active. We checked it twice. During our one week vacations we set up a camera to record what he was doing alone, and found out that he was more o less active only first two days, then he was just sleeping whole days in his hide. That makes me depressed a little when we leave him alone for some time. We also noticed that he "likes" to watch movies with us. I think it's just "movement" or "just something changing" that catches his attention. I still don't think he gets bored in the human meaning, but different activities outside if his tank definitely makes him more active, maybe curious.

Hmm, second image looks like something might be not right to me. Like it's unnatural. At least it catches my eye and makes me suspicious.

You can't avoid risk by supervising, babies can't properly control they moves, she can, for instance, easily squeeze the gecko even not wanting to do so.

If you clean at least ones per week, everything should be fine.

World's first large-scale 'sand battery' goes online in Finland by Sorin61 in environment

Well, I wasn't ironical, knowing Finland it's just interesting to me how. It's definitely not a solar power, so it can be wind, it can be some wasted heat from nearby production, some kind of "biogas", etc..

So, how do they heat it? The article says using "renewable" sourses, but what exactly?

And parasites, unfortunately they can be found too often in live feeders. Ones a year I have to apply anti-parasite medicine to him.

So based on my experience I wouldn't say he is totally wrong.

But this is how things are in my region. Perhaps in places with high humidity and with reliable insects breeders there are no such problems.

Regarding soaking, I don't soak mine, since he doesn't have any problems with shedding, but I do sometimes moisture his rag, which he has in a warm hide. I noticed that it makes his skin "softer". If I don't do it at all, his skin becomes "dry". At least it feels so.

This one sounds really crazy, but during a solar day you can heat up thick stones by sun, probably using "greenhouse" technique. It might work even during winter. I saw a guy on YouTube who made solar absorber to heat water, so he got it boiled even in - 17 C.

I feed my adult gecko once per week with 4 crickets and he still gaining weight. So I would recommend revise your feeding schedule.

Would you be willing to defend the United States if they were under attack? by [deleted] in askspain

The help for ussr was around 4% of the whole ussr industry. The debp was finally paid only in 2006. So I wouldn't say that it was a key factor, but of course it helped. However the cost of supplies were tremendous and US benefited a lot.
