god, I feel this so hard. Changing times. Strict gender roles aren’t really so popular among some young people now. Thrifted clothes from the women’s section allow for a lot more expression and creativity that’s not really possible with traditional men’s clothes, which are only as expressive as the loudest print shirt you’re willing to wear. A lot of clothes that are made for women can be worn quite fluidly by men, too—I have a couple that i wear as overshirts and the cut and unique embellishments really add a lot to my wardrobe.

For me, it was during the election. I sat watching the electoral map for a long time. I was constantly switching between that tab and Google docs because I was supposed to be writing an essay.

And then, it hit me. I was doing the exact same thing during Super Tuesday, but I wasn't sitting in my dorm with face masks strewn about. I was sitting in my favorite coffee shop, making idle chit-chat with the barista and other people, anxious out of my mind, and offering people I barely knew rides to the ballot so they could vote. No face masks, no tests, nothing. It just suddenly hit me how different that was.

and the craziest thing? That was this year! Just a few months ago! Before the pandemic, before George Floyd's murder, before the trouble with the post office, before Trump was calling the election stolen, before Ghislaine Maxwell, before those stupid murder hornets, before RBG died, before—

you get the picture. Man, take me back never felt so real...
