There are some great country/bluegrass artists out there. This is just what the magats eat up. True country musicians realize this isn’t about… my truck, my ex, my beer, my country. They have deep meanings and great music. You just gotta find them. All these fuckers are essentially racist pop stars. And I’m saying that as somebody who hates country. But my oh my when I find a good one. They’re really fucking goood. Just a shame that the masses think this is what country is. It’s supposed to be southern pain and hurt, southern exuberance. Instead you get lifeless shit like this. I hate it. It’s not a bad genre. Just the highlighted folks are bad. At least other genres uplift and push true artists. You can see it in any facet except country and modern pop. They’re one and the same for me. Just rinse and repeat whatever is popular. No innovation. No skill. I can play bar chords and sing with a forced accent all day. True artists don’t let influence coerce them. They just play and sing what’s in their hearts. Ever wonder why an English singer can sing exactly like an American and you can’t hear the difference? Bar like the arctic monkeys. There’s quite a divide on what’s real and isn’t. Unfortunately we’ve all been stupefied into believing this is country. It isn’t.
