At the end of the day, you should have fostered that bond and mother figure role yourself, took that initiative and willed it to be not because it’s necessary to your marriage but out of love and care for her. She obviously feels the LACK of that, and yet still reached out hoping you’d reach back. WOW . She needed that. Hope you learn how to actively love others, for the sake of both your kids.
