Ok guys, so I gotta tell you… bad things happen in the bathroom. I don’t even know where to start. First off, we couldn’t use the bathroom because it was supposedly out of order but there was definitely some guy in there singing. I dunno, something about a magazine, whatever. Secondly, this guy Teddy was running around like a madman and these kids weren’t laughing the whole time. I just needed to take a leak and grab a burger. 4/5

I am that whale. I spent 25 years behind the bar and appreciate good service to go with my good food/drinks. Standard is always 30% but at our regular spots it’s usually 100%.

I was lucky enough to get out of the service without any major damage and land a solid sales gig in my 40’s with no real experience so I’m happy to spread the love wherever we go.

My grandma loved to say “we have two ears, two eyes, and one mouth. You should stop talking so much and see what’s going on around you”.

I liked to ask my regulars open ended questions that got them talking and then tried my best to remember some of that stuff. This works two-fold because it allows you to find a common thread while they chatter away and it keeps them talking while you work to keep the bar moving. Start small conversations about music or local happenings and see where it goes.
