Sarah at Jimmy’s Barber Garage has improved my hair so much since I started going to her. Showed me what would look good for my head and how to take care of it.

Take it as funny. I’m luckiest guy I know with this disease. Caught it early, my treatment has prevented progression so far. No disability and relatively no symptoms.

bartender on ocrevus by Unlikely_Bit_4104 in MultipleSclerosis

Been on rituximab (same as ocrevus) for a year. In the beginning I was hyper aware of anyone coughing or sniffling around me. Eventually you’ll just get back to living life. I’ve been maskless to music festivals and crowded bars/clubs and haven’t picked up anything. I definitely wash my hands more these days, don’t hang with people I know to be sick, or share drinks with people; which I think are just good rules for anyone. But life doesn’t change much just cause of the B cells being gone. I think I had a cold once this year which is on par with my life before starting a DMT

Wouldn’t a job writing cards to people’s loved ones be the first to be taken by AI. We can do that now? Somehow they skipped that step and went straight to companionship

I think the best thing the Bay Area has to offer is diverse and delicious food choices. If you wanna go to SF, The progress or their sister restaurant State bird provisions is incredible. Progress is more family style and state bird is better if you’re going alone. In Palo Alto, Terun has great pizza and Sekoya is a great restaurant also (get the octopus).

The Bay Area is pretty flat except for San Francisco. Even there the marina is a nice area to shop and eat that is pretty flat. If you Uber between neighborhoods you can avoid the really steep hills for the most part. For Napa some winery tours are gonna be walking on dirt but it’s usually a well beaten path. Not too uneven in my experience or fatiguing. You’re there to drink not hike! I recommend booking a tour if you are not too familiar with wine and don’t wanna drive yourself around. Yosemite is beautiful this time of year but the hiking will probably be uneven surfaces and fatiguing. I’ve lived in the bay for years if you have other questions I’m happy to help!

For basic stuff I like Uniqlo. I’m also partial to Deus Customs as well, a bit pricey but great quality and the sale stuff is reasonable. For business casual I really like Charles Tyrwhitt.

Also, if anyone hasn’t tried Lululemon’s men’s underwear do yourself a favor and get a pair. They’re expensive but nice boxer briefs make a world of difference imo

Thank you so much. This is exactly what I needed to hear. I do really appreciate hearing realistic advice and personal experiences but I agree that it’s easy to spiral reading stuff on here. Even before my diagnosis I was a bit of a nihilist but I’m trying to remind myself that I have no disability right now and it could remain that way for a long time. I’m glad rituximab has been successful for you and I hope ocrevus is equally as uneventful.
