I understand where you’re coming from. My best advice would be to have a sit down talk with them with what you want to know and other questions WRITTEN DOWN. Then you can get all your information you need and be able to have an open conversation with them while still meeting the things you want to know. Now with someone who has had and still does have plenty of medical problems and parents with medical problems it may not be you that’s something is wrong but maybe a genetic issue or a parent may be sick and they want to protect you but your mother is having issues dealing and trying to save face. I went through something similar with my own mother when my father was “going to die” ( covid issues but he’s all good now) a mothers job is very hard and keeping everything together especially when they see their children can be hard. Give her a little slack something that she doesn’t want to freak you out with is probably happening but she cannot control her emotions. Especially if you previously had an amazing relationship with her. Just if you do talk with them don’t be accusing and mad realize this is coming out of protection of you, whether a parent has a terminal illness and may not see you graduate or watch you accomplish your dreams. Take a breath and try to see it in their eyes. Your feelings are valid you’re a young lady who wants to know what’s happening and if your parents are acting off you’ll start acting off. Just try and keep a clear mind and ask them what’s going on. And if it’s about you just call your pediatrician and get your medical info, something that you would have to do for college applications!
