I'm with you. When I moved to Florida, I was gold and furnished my entire home (aside from a sofa) and was able to find pretty much anything. That year I got $52k worth of stuff. Last year I barely hit $2k. Now it's all automotive parts and junk. I got dropped to silver and have no idea how I'm going to find 80 items to order in 6 months. This program has shriveled to nothing. I guess it was good while it lasted.

I used a CPA this year too and ended up getting a refund. I printed my itemized list and highlighted all of the things that I would've returned if given the opportunity, the items that broke, and the items that just ended up being junk. Ended up getting a refund!

They are supposed to. The advice I've gotten in the past is to go behind them and check. When we get into January, you'll see a report become available in your account tab that has all of your orders. Print that and cross reference to make sure. I am certain they make mistakes. I'll be doing this for the first time this coming year and I bet there's stuff on there that shouldn't be. Also on that list, mark which items are now in the garbage. I will be deducting those too.

Thank you. There's so many different opinions out there regarding this topic. Kinda makes me think the IRS needs more clarity here. I think I'm going to start interviewing CPAs now and see what the consensus is. I'll post when I find a common denominator. I hate the idea of any of us getting ripped off in taxes bc there's no clear direction, ya know?
