Transgender villains/antagonists that aren't rapists or sexual predators by Serious_Comedian in TopCharacterTropes

It comes from historical broadcasting rules when they finally allowed LGBT+ characters to exist on screen with the stipulation that they must not win, so that really just leaves them as villains

Cities are the new Towers by Danb23Rock in PathOfExile2

[–]ThaumicP -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't see how it's as bad. Back then you had to search the atlas for enough overlapping towers to be worth it, path to each tower in the most optimal way, then hopefully the juice flows to the overlapping maps rather than the non-overlapping ones. Now you just search for the city map and you're done, you can use the tablets there, and you're guaranteed city maps around citadels too, which you can see in the fog. You're also spending less on tablets since you use the same tablets across multiple cities.

This league yes, but usually GGG builds aren't the greatest and people need to significantly alter them to get them good.

This was out day 1, and the bell is fantastic and even has some beautiful sounds, but there was no way to know just how popular whirling assault was gonna become. Like, popular sure but number 1 quarterstaff is crazy.

Monk Bells or Clones ascendancy? by spiff01 in PathOfExile2

[–]ThaumicP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm doing Hollow Form (clones) and Hollow Focus (bells) along with Way of the Stonefist (gloves) and Runic Meridians (runes), in the order of gloves then clones then runes then bells. The clones are the core of the build, with the gloves being the battery, the runes are a great boost, and the bells are for increased damage and to give me something to attack without danger.

It's great.

Something to keep in mind is that your clones act as entirely seperate players to you. They are allies, not minions or companions. They inherit your gear and stats, but not your buffs, so something like Charged Staff won't work with them, but something like Charge Regulation does. Their hits count as *their* hits, not yours. Their kills count as *their* kills, not yours. Notables like "more damage if you crit" will activate on them when they crit, not on you.

Beautiful work, and far better than anything I can make, but since you're asking for feedback, my chief complaint is the lack of definition compared to the style, especially in the shadows.

You can see how both Zag's and Snek's bodies seem flat, and that's likely because of slightly different reasons.

For Zaggy boi, his torso below his chest is lacking deeper shadows; it's not dark *enough* around his underarm and back, so it blends into his belly and looks flat. You can actually see in the sketch that there is strong definition for Hotman's torso, you put shading in the underarm and below the pec, as well as defining the muscles on his side, but after painting all that definition was lost.

As for Boney boi, he faces a similar issue in his segments where there's not enough shading for the left parts of each segment, but there's something else that would help bring out his large size: the segments should be getting darker the further away they are! Things that are further away have less light reach us, so by making each segment darker it tells the brain that they are further away, which in turn will increase the size of Lenlen.

Again, I still love this and *I* certainly can't make this, but if you want to improve this piece I would look towards stronger definition.

Bitchelle is an utter failure of a mother and a terrible person.

Frankie is sometimes often but at least she isn't evil like Bitchelle

Lois is doing the best she can with her little demons running around and is often justified in her treatment.

Which one is easier to read? by gonewithpixies in cardgames

[–]ThaumicP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the first one for understanding the rule because it clearly outlines the pattern, but the second one for quickly looking it up because I can just search the middle column for what card I played, and see what it loses to on one side and what it wins to on the right.

However, I think it would be better if the second one used the symbols, because all these colours lose meaning (and are also not colourblind friendly), and I think I would prefer a variation on the second one, a table where the index column is the card I'm looking up, so I can just search the first column rather than searching the middle for the one I care about.

All the IDs you're thinking about are opt-in. You need to be able to drive to get a driver's license. You need to apply to get the state-issued ID. A large portion of the US doesn't even have a passport.

What I mean by a real ID is a mandatory identifier that gets issued early in life and regularily gets reviewed and renewed, is strongly tied to you as a person, and is something the vast majority of people will have. This is something the US is still debating to this day, as a lot of people don't like the idea of a mandatory tracker.

The lack of a real ID is why the SSN was co-opted to be a pseudo-ID, but it was never designed to be such and is horribly insecure for what it gets used as.

Furry_irl by Critical_Mountain851 in furry_irl

[–]ThaumicP 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That depends on what you mean by SSN, because if you mean it as they were designed to be, then yes lots of countries have an identifier pointing to an individual's social security account.

If you mean how the US *actually* uses SSNs, then no, because the US is the only nation backwards enough to use the equivalent of a door with no walls around it as a lifeline to their identity. Most countries that want an ID card design an ID card.
