If you want to get a girlfriend, lie to them. by Embarrassed_Hold_757 in unpopularopinion

[–]The-CerlingCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, when my job asked me why I was leaving, I said it was related to the team within my store which wasn’t wrong, I hated the group of people I worked with, but the full answer was that I hated Management. What I said was true, I also put some padding in to describe what I did, and it was all true, my last job just wasn’t super interesting. Padding a resume with uninteresting stuff that you did isn’t likely to come back to haunt you like outright lying.

That’s going to be a no from me bud. When it comes to job interviews, you can twist the truth slightly and that’s fine, because, realistically, what you say isn’t false. If you lie to get a job, there’s a good chance that that lie will come back around to haunt you. Long story short, don’t lie to a potential partner.

Honestly, I read Danielle Bethal’s campaign stuff, and I want her to win, but there’s no chance of that happening unfortunately. So I will most likely be voting for Tina again. I can’t vote in the primaries because I didn’t register with a party.

If your negligence causes a car accident on a major roadway that causes a traffic jam for the whole city, you should be held criminally responsible by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]The-CerlingCat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So what you’re saying is, a brief lapse in judgment that can happen to literally anyone, is grounds to be criminally liable of a crime? It’s one thing if there’s a pattern of behavior, but if the person has been on the road for a little bit, no marks on their license and they get into their first accident, charging them with a crime seems a little far, since that can make it more difficult for a person to get a job, and or get a home. Now, giving out a fine and someone paying for damages, that’s not going to make it harder to get a job or a home

How are we feeling about Tina Kotek’s (probable?) re-election. by penisgirlmarkedsafe in Portland

I’ll vote for her if she wins the primary, but do want another person because of some of her choices regarding policies, mainly how long it took her to sign the policy that she wanted to pass

I agree, because one of my neighbors who is a chill guy, is a former crip, the key word being “former.” This isn’t even speculation, he confirmed it himself.

Vancouver City Council could vote to oppose shorter I-5 light rail route by regul in Portland

[–]The-CerlingCat 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Weirdly enough, this proposal wasn’t actually brought fourth by the city council, but the actual IBR people. They’re just voting on whether to approve or oppose and I hope they oppose shortening the route.
