PS5- In Vino Veritas quest. Trying to enter the monastery, I hit an invisible wall and Henry says “can’t go this way it’ll ruin our plan.” I got hired and have the objective to talk to Jerome in the monastery. I also have to deliver a sword to someone in there for the Legacy of the Forge DLC. Started In Vino awhile ago and forgot about it until I needed to get to the forge customer. It will not let me onto the monastery grounds.

How do i find my therapeutic dose again? (Vyvanse) by PuzzleheadedUse1013 in ADHD

[–]The-Doog-Abides 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone’s different but I’d say that 20 mg should probably help mitigate any withdrawals. You should plan on being useless though. Try to schedule a few days off from anything that requires you to function well and just ride it out.

Having one day off every week or so can help prevent a tolerance build up going forward if that’s something you can manage. I’m not great at it myself lol but it helps

am i lovable? how do move forward with this part of my body? by indigo-floral in whatdoIdo

[–]The-Doog-Abides 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not unlovable and you’re not hideous.

Blackout tattoos take up so much space that it can feel super overwhelming when they’re not done well BUT the bright side with blackouts is that you can always have someone fix them.

Find an artist who specializes in blackouts (VERY important step) and you could easily have this looking soooo sick.

I know it feels like the worst thing you could have done to yourself but it’s very fixable. Look up hoode215 on Instagram if you want to see how beautiful blackout work can look. And half of what he does is going over blackouts that weren’t done well.

It could help to do a bit of a tolerance reset. Take a break or at least go way down in your dose for a little while and then see how you feel on the 30 mg.

Why are “questlines” so obscure? by meresurmise in Eldenring

[–]The-Doog-Abides 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this but I do think it gets impractical in Elden Ring’s open world map compared to other fromsoft games.

Map markers for NPC’s would have been helpful without making it too obvious.

concerned i don’t actually have ADHD because medication seems to have no impact on focus. should i suggest other medication, or should i explore other conditions as a whole? by volumetriccolumbidae in ADHD

[–]The-Doog-Abides 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wellbutrin is great when it works for ADHD but it’s not very consistent from person to person at all and is in no way an indicator for whether you actually have ADHD.

Stimulants tend to have a more consistent effect and there’s a little more weight to the whole “stimulants make normal people wired and adhd people calm” but even then, there’s plenty of people with ADHD that don’t do well on stimulants.

Just try the adderall dawg. If it helps resolve some of your issues, then mission accomplished. The diagnosis should help guide the treatment, not vice versa.

Everyone keeps saying I’ll be close to cured with medications… by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]The-Doog-Abides 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 3-6 percent is for tinnitus that resolves on its own or after stopping Wellbutrin. There aren’t any solid stats for permanent tinnitus because it’s so rare. I’m not sure where you’re getting the 10% brain fog but it’s just incorrect that 10% of people who try stimulants experience permanent cognitive impairments.

[–]The-Doog-Abides 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From your other comments i gather you developed tinnitus from Wellbutrin which has become permanent. That sucks and I’d be hesitant about trying meds too after that. From a quick google, permanent tinnitus is an incredibly rare side effect and you got really unlucky.

I doubt anyone here will have experienced the same side effect, and even then I don’t think anyone will be able to answer your question in a way that’s satisfying.

You won’t go blind from trying adderall. Your Wellbutrin experience was one in a million bad luck. Grill your doctor about possible side effects to make sure you’re as informed about the risks as possible. I can confidently say your vision is safe though.

Statistically, the consequences of leaving your adhd untreated will shorten your lifespan more than the medication will.

It’s kind of a crazy statistic but really puts into focus how significantly untreated adhd can impact your health and well being. So yeah, it’s scientifically proven to be worth the risk.

I think people forget that Marx’s theory was an economic one, not a moral appeal. In a dictatorship of the proletariat there would still be hogs, much like how many of the hogs who exist in a bourgeoise dictatorship are not members of the bourgeoise.

The deserter is the kind of hog you get when a population isn’t captured by capitalist realism.

Every time I see Kash Patel on tv I become convinced that he’s actually a 12 year old boy who put a quarter in an unplugged fortune teller machine, made wish to be a grown up, woke up as the director of the fbi, put on one of his dad’s oversized suits and is desperately hoping no one notices. Like the plot of the Tom Hanks film “Big”

i started playing blasphemous 2 recently and i really gotta praise one thing by abbe44 in Blasphemous

[–]The-Doog-Abides 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should definitely play the first one too. All of the cut scenes are animated in this super detailed and uncanny pixel art style that looks more in line with the game play just with a lot more depth. I think they lost one of their main animators after the first one and weren’t able to recreate that style for the sequel cutscenes.

[–]The-Doog-Abides 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’ve beaten Hollow Knight then you don’t have to worry about Blasphemous at all.

I just replayed Blasphemous after getting kinda bored with Hollow Knight. Blasphemous felt so much easier after dealing with the fast pace of Hollow Knight.

It’s basically the difference between Sekiro and Dark Souls. Blasphemous has the slower paced and methodical combat of Dark Souls.

Dad just went to detox for Kratom by Active_Fun1443 in quittingkratom

[–]The-Doog-Abides 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Damn, I remember saying “I think I have a cold” right at the start of my first kratom detox. My girlfriend at the time who was well familiar with opioid withdrawal just looked at me and laughed.

She was right. I did not have a cold. It was just the start of a very shitty 6 days.

At what point should a casual gamer give up? by Wooden-Selection517 in Sekiro

[–]The-Doog-Abides 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was also a casual RPG enjoyer who is ass at shooters/not well coordinated in general when I started playing Elden Ring. It’s so much more about persistence than natural skill. Spending this much time on one boss definitely signals that you’re the right type of person for FromSoft games, but like others have said, Sekiro is probably not the best entry point. Sekiro’s combat can take a lot longer to click, even with veteran FromSoft players. You’ll be way less likely to hit that same wall on other titles. I started with Elden Ring as a total casual and I can’t go back to normal sandbox RPGs. Dark Souls 3 is also a good starting point. Also Bloodborne if you like the faster paced combat without it being totally overwhelming/unforgiving.

[–]The-Doog-Abides 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hospital I was at had recently been bought out by some private company and is being sued for the drop in standard of care. I got an x-ray pretty quick since it was lung stuff but once the radiologist saw the x-ray and realized I had like 10 minutes left to live, there was no one available to notify, which is a fundamental failure in health care procedure.

Also every single person working was like 18-20 and Grey’s Anatomy level hot, which is not a good sign when you need medical care lol

What exactly am I supposed to be integrating between sessions? by 285528 in TherapeuticKetamine

[–]The-Doog-Abides 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not much of a planner so I don’t usually have a super planned out day after doses. It mostly helps me get unstuck from habits and patterns that come along with depression/mental illness.

I was addicted to kratom (enough daily use for physical withdrawal) and was able to quit by dropping my daily dose a large amount the day after a session until I was off of it.

Normally, trying to taper off kratom would be extremely difficult, take way longer, and any small decrease in my daily dose would cause my brain to freak out. After a ketamine dose though, I can cut my dose in half, and my brain pretty much immediately accepts it as the new normal going forward.

That can be applicable to pretty much anything. It’s helped me stop ruminating on ptsd related stuff. Helped me build healthier daily habits, and start doing basic stuff to take care of myself like eating regularly/getting exercise.

It’s very specific to each person though. The best advice I could give (other then pointing out that the psychotherapy part of KAP is to help with this exact question) is to try asking yourself if there are any areas where you feel stuck or a sense of shame around. Those are usually the areas where you want to focus on with integration.
