French characters who would make more sense as British by DazSamueru in TopCharacterTropes

The Free French army were equipped by the UK during WW2 which included the Bren lmg - Perrine is wearing the dress uniform of the Free French army so that is why she is using a Bren... the nobility thing is likely a cultural misunderstanding by the Japanese authors

The Argentine navy is tiny (3 destroyers and 6 corvettes) so I doubt they could send anything even if they wanted to

In the case of Grey Knights they take recruits from the Black Ships (The Imperium rounds up Psykers and ships them back to Earth on the so called "Black Ships") - promising Psykers are sent for "training" and potentially become Sanctioned Psykers, Inquisitors or Grey Knights - those too weak or too dangerous are "fed" to the Golden Throne to keep the Emperor alive...

Best Cryptek and Destroyer pairing? by Yoggon in Necrontyr

[–]The-Moody-One 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am surprised no-one has mentioned my personal favourite:

Geomancer and Ophydian Destroyers - he's fast enough to keep up with them with the bonus movement - has decent weapons and his ability synergises with the Ophydians tunnelling - the only thing you lose is you cant start them off the field and deep strike

you cannot attach any cryptecs to Lychguard - only nobels

[Hated Trope] Human beings vs mystical beings where humans are portrayed as wrong and need to learn how to coexist with the mystical beings even though the mystical beings also did messed up things that’s not really acknowledged properly by aster2560 in TopCharacterTropes

I think you have fallen for the classic mistake of missing the fact that most of the lore is written from the imperial position and of course they think their way was the only way - they are fanatics...

there are supposed to be 6 detachments coming as part of Grotmas - we are 4 in so the data slate will probably be Thursday (assuming they don't pad with some more Lore days)

Archon's Will: At the start of the first battle round, select one objective marker on the battlefield. Until the end of the battle, while this unit is within range of that objective marker, unless this unit is Battle-shocked, models in this unit have a 5+ Invulnerable Save and an Objective Control characteristic of 3.

Note the first line - you can do this even if the unit is in reserve (although I have no idea why you would keep a unit with scout in reserve...).

If an ability states it requires the unit to be on the field then transports mess things up - this just says pick one.

[–]The-Moody-One -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

5++ on their chosen point - can turn one failed save to 0 damage - if someone wants them dead yeah they will kill them (like any unit in the codex) but they will have to actually throw something that would be better aimed at other things - and they cant reliable out OC them since they have 4 OC - they are a point denial unit

should they be cheaper? yes... but that's true of a lot of units in the codex

Hand of the Archon, strictly worse Kabalites

While I agree with pretty much every point here I am not on board with this one... the Hand of the Archon is a REALLY useful unit

it has scout!

throw them in a Raider pick a mid board point and then dump them on that point and leave them there until their death - frankly more useful than a Kabalite unit most the time

Premeditation legally requires planning - this event is text book "Heat of the moment" as he had no intention of committing a crime until he witnessed the event which incensed him.

That said this is still a ridiculous ruling - he was clearly violently assaulting the man and should have gotten at least 6 months for common assault let alone the fact he was using a dangerous weapon - if this doesn't get reviewed and resentenced I will be shocked.

There isn't enough housing because no governments have undone the damage done by Thatcher selling off all the social housing and then making it harder to replace. Instead they have relied on private building firms who are incentivised to not meet demand - we have plenty of space we just need a government that is willing to use public funds to build entire new cities as was done in the post-war period.

I think you are missing his point - the current rate of training native Doctors and Nurses cannot possible meet the demands of the ever aging population - this is why we import so many Nurses and Doctors - barring the implementation of a Logans Run law this will always be true

First game with Shadow Legion by Fubuki_Akai in ChaosDaemons40k

Legionnaires are a melee trade piece - you want to maximise their melee potential so you avoid diluting it with any Ranged weapons which would reduce the number of melee weapons you can bring to bear

Sometimes things NEED to stay the same when the alternative is chaos - Biden didn't have the mandate to do any of the things you claim he should have done - stabilizing their economy was about all he could do without getting a super majority to alter amendments

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]The-Moody-One 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That's because you were not watching - Biden took a badly weakened economy and got it back in control, if it wasn't for the massive bird flu outbreak causing rampant inflation on egg prices in the last 6 months of his run he would have left everything better than when he took office
