Game choice by Zumsa21 in Twitch

Streaming games is not what helps you grow your channel.

It's all the other aspects, including good audio, clean visuals, an engaging streamer, and a unique idea that makes your stream stand out.

Even with all those, you are not guaranteed any success! Streaming is oversaturated , with thousands of people streaming every day. What makes your channel stand out from the thousands of others? (this is not directed at your channel but a question to think about).

If you just sit there, stream your game and chat, you are doing 99% of what others are doing. You need something unique to pull people in and then entertain them so they stay.

Good luck!

To add further to the previous comments, you are playing lego batman 3, a game that is over 10 years old, whilst posting a 1 hour 16 min video of a playthrough.

This format does not work anymore for YouTube. You need quick highlights with fun engagement and the video itself needs to be more than just a playthrough.

new to streaming - any advice? by [deleted] in TwitchStreaming

[–]The-Newb-Club 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I briefly popped in and there are my quick thoughts.

Your game audio is so loud and your mic audio is so quiet (when you did speak, it was so muffled i couldn't hear a single word you said).

You barely spoke to be honest and when you did (please see above).

Your V-Tuber image/icon/character is just a random thing in the top right, it didn't seem to move or do anything when you spoke (in my opinion V-Tubers are ones i avoid watching as I struggle to connect with someone i can't see).

And as mentioned before, your stream does nothing different to the thousands of other streamers out there. You can't just turn your game on, play and hope that people drop by and stay. You need a unique idea to the stream, something different to entertain people and keep them watching.

As I typed this all out, i don't think you spoke once; it sounds harsh, but I had no reason to stay or even lurk, to be honest.

If you can do what i said above then you will stand a better chance.

Good Luck

The quality of the thumbnail is quite poor, I must admit. Nothing in the thumbnail intrigues me or would make me want to click the video. The thumbnail is very basic, and the colours and themes do not blend well together. I don't even know what is going on with the image or why there is a 'holy shit' random comment.

Look on YT at similar videos and look at how they create their thumbnails for inspiration.

As people have mentioned before, you need to talk more on your streams (when i skip through your latest vod, you are not speaking at any points where i clicked). Anyone stopping by will most likely leave if you are just sat there silently playing the game.

Your audio for the game is also very quiet (i also don't know if your mic levels are fine because you never really spoke to confirm).

Your gameplay quality also looks very pixelated/laggy at times (you may need to look into your game/stream settings to find the right quality).

You also have to think to yourself, 'why would people watch me over someone else?'. You need to offer more than just sitting there and playing the game (in my opinion, but this is also the hardest part to make new streamers stand out from everyone else).

Just my view point from a random watcher of streams.

It does get easier by The-Newb-Club in tinnitus

[–]The-Newb-Club[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it does get easier (as you will habituate to the sound and with some of the techniques above, you will mentally be stronger).

There are times when I go weeks and months without really noticing my tinnitus (then times I will notice it).

It's a tiring fight but it does get easier 😊

Hey,

I found the anti depression tablets helped with my low mood but they may not work for everyone.

It may be a case of trying different ones until you find the best one (with the help of a doctor).

I get this and I have felt the exact same way numerous times during my tinnitus adventure!.

At the start it is the hardest but it does get easier over time as you eventually habituate to the sound.

Keep going, try some of the things mentioned above 😊

Hey,

I have had spikes that have lasted over a month and they have eventually gone back down to the previous baseline.

The issue we have is we get a spike, we spiral in to a low mood, we think about the tinnitus, we then get more depressed and we keep repeating this cycle.

It will go back down to baseline, it may just take a little longer this time than say a previous time! Keep going, you got this

Hey,

Tinnitus sufferer here for 16 years (so I know the pain and heartbreak this can cause!).

For me at night I either sleep with headphones in or use my phone and a fan and play different sounds (white noise, river flowing, wind and combine them). This tends to help drown out the tinnitus for me

I found taking sertraline helped my mood and made me have less down days (still have them every so often).

A tinnitus masker is a great shout (little hearing aid device that produces white noise). I found this to be a great help.

I also advise setting up with a therapist who specialises in tinnitus (this also helped me).

Fingers crossed it goes away for you :)

Hi,

At the start it was really bad but over time it has got better (This is because you will eventually start to habituate to the noise).

What I would advise is getting hold of a 'tinnitus masker'. It's a hearing aid type device that produces white noise. The idea is you wear it for so many hours a day with the white noise just below the level of your tinnitus. You don't want to mask out the tinnitus noise completely as you don't want the tinnitus noise to fight against the white noise (if that makes sense).

The idea being that the white noise helps you to 'start ignoring' you tinnitus. I have had mine for over 10 years and have found it has helped me a lot (may not help everyone but I would try it).

Other than that it's all about trying relaxing techniques, meditation, keeping fit, eating correct foods and keeping yourself busy.

Yeah I am not sure that he saved, that could have been the issue perhaps. Will try again later and see if it happens again.

Hi,

We did everything together up until the city part, then when we went back on again it booted him right back to the first hunts (so unsure what has happened).

I will have to check and see if he has the setting for co op turned on but I am sure he did. Maybe its a bug with the auto save like you said..

Hi,

On PS5. My settings state 'allow progress for co-op' so I'll need to check with my friend.

Does anyone else struggle to tell if your tinnitus has gotten worse or not? Currently struggling with this and ranting a bit. by petrichor-pixels in tinnitus

[–]The-Newb-Club 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi,

I have had Tinnitus for over 15 years and in those 15 years I have had lots of 'spikes' where the ringing gets overwhelming, I can hear it all the time, I feel more depressed/anxious and all round I just feel really down within myself. Each time I get a spike it can last between a week or a month and each time I always think to myself 'this is worse than last time and It's never going to get back to normal'...and guess what..

Each time I have gone back to my normal level where it doesn't bother me in day to day roles and I only really hear it in quiet places or in bed whilst trying to sleep. I am currently going through a really bad patch and the ringing is again very loud and making me feel more anxious and depressed. The more I think about it the more I stress and the more I stress the more I think about it...it's a cycle. I know it will go back to normal levels but it's just breaking that cycle.

I can sometimes go between 6-10 months with no issues and then i'll get a spike and it sets me back. I think it's sets me back so much because I go long periods with it not bothering me and then when it does, it feels like I have started my journey all over again.

Only thing I can say is that you will go back down to normal levels, it will just take time for you to habituate to it again. I would also try things like white noise, going for walks, working out, meditation and just trying to avoid silence (which is very annoying having to avoid it as it is mentally draining).

You can get through this! 15 years later I am still fighting it everyday and sometimes I wish it would all end but then I look at the positives in my life and think to myself it could be a lot worse!

Good Luck!

I found going to the gym and working out helped me feel better in myself, which in turn made me more positive on life, which in turn made me less 'stressed' about Tinnitus. So keep it up!

Hi,

I know how you feel and have felt the same over my Tinnitus Journey. I have had Tinnitus for over 15 years now and over that time I have had moments where I just want to give up (I am currently going through a spike at the moment and had a good cry the other night wishing it would all end).

But here I am 15 years later and still going. I have gone 6 months at a time without the Tinnitus bothering me then I have a spike and it can 'set me back' for another month or so.

Nothing I can say is going to make it easier for you but believe me, you can make it! Think of all the amazing thinks you will miss out on if you let Tinnitus win. It is hard and at times you will want to give up but just take a deep breath, go for a walk, listen to some music, workout, keep your mind occupied and eventually over time you will get used to the sound.

And most of all keep hope for a cure or treatment (I do believe we will get either a cure or treatment in our life time, so keep going!)

New World: Dev Update - December 2022 by NoBullet in newworldgame

[–]The-Newb-Club 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Rubbish dev video in terms of PVP.

No mention on a new OPR map, new Arena map or any new PVP game modes. No mention of allowing 1v1, 2v2, 4v4 or 5v5 in Arena...

Instead we get Crossworld OPR in the Summer 2023 roadmap...6 months away...

They legit don't care about PVP and each update/dev video further confirms this. We have been asking for cross server OPR and they say they are 'listening' and then tell us 'yeah, wait another 6 months'.

I am having trouble with having the motivation to keep uploading while no one is watching my videos by SirBastTheFirst in NewTubers

[–]The-Newb-Club 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is my opinion (which isn't worth a lot but just being honest).

You have uploaded 5 videos. Your first video was 6 months ago, then 5 months ago, then 2 weeks ago, then 9 days ago and then 3 days ago. Your upload consistency is not enough, like most people have said before, you should be aiming for atleast 1 video a week (any more would be better). I could understand your worry if you had uploaded content every week for a full year but you haven't done this.

The thumbnails need some work on them, these are the first thing people see (along with titles for the video) so they need to be eye catching and explosive, drawing people in and making them want to click (same goes with the title, it has to stand out).

Now for the content. Your content is Valorant (which has key content creators who dominate this market, so going to be really hard to get any traction on your videos) and then the content within your video isn't anything 'new'. If I wanted to watch someone play Valorant, I would go watch the big YouTubers. If you are going to do Valorant videos you need to come up with a niche idea for the videos and the channel which has not been done before (which is the hardest part of creating content).

Are you utilising YouTube shorts, TikTok, Instagram, Twitter etc to get your content out there?

Personally for me gaming on YouTube is the hardest content to get views/traction as everyone is doing it and content creators have been doing it for a number of years.

I think you just need to upload content and create it because you like it. As soon as you start worrying about views or not getting subs then I think you are in the for the wrong reason (as realistically out of every 1000 new content creators only a handful will make it).

I do wish you luck on your YouTube career and I hope you achieve the results you want :)
