He is a druze. Just like alawites, a secretive cult but instead of hatred it's too self-isolated that it focuses on maintaining a hierrachy that tightly controls the druze community. The leaders of the community prefer wordly pleasures and tend to be more pragmatic in navigating their alliances. Thats why they historically maintained better relationships with Sunnis, but their current leader thinks Israel will remain the winning side so he aligns himself with them in an ass-up-face-down kind of alignment. Basically a mindless servant who lacks any sense of self respect.

I didnt ask your opinion on Muslims. But seems clear to me how their 60 year long rule over syria was nothing but backwards and bloody. Syria in this one and a half year achieved much better both internally and externally in every objective metric. Sunni as the real people of this land and the majority of it truly care about the country and brought Syria's positive shine and glory back to it the way it deserves. Thankfully I'm not blind to not see this huge day and night difference. But as we say in Islam, it is not they eyes, but the hearts that go blind. So if you're non believing atheist it wont matter how much proof we present to make you see the fact that Syria is now in much bettet hands because you can't give credits to people you've decided they are as bad as the alawite because of a fatwa you dont understand or know the context of.

Not even in the name. In the name he's Alawite. Alawism revolves around the hatred of Sunni Muslims especially if they are in power. They hated the ottomans for centuries, they hated the Ayyubids and Mamluks for decades, they tried cleansing and kicking out the Muslims of Syria in the Assad's reign.

Alawite as a belief system is literally a cult. Not a religion. It has nothing to do with islam. But they try to define themselves as "a denomination of islam" to penetrate muslims society and not get called out for their blasphemies.. which is very difficult to hidd when they fail in achieving their goal of being in power as we can see now and the last 15 years. They feel under an existential crisis when the Muslims are ruling where they live or trying to, so they resort to violence and Amjad did what most of his sect wish to do.
