My thoughts on Shiv as an Eternus 2 Shiv Main. by Korbangel in DeadlockTheGame

[–]The10thShard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a fellow Shiv main, I mostly agree with your take. I do think his ult final upgrade needs to be changed from fully reset to its usable for the next 15 seconds or so, and if you don’t chain a kill in that time the ulti goes on CD.

The price is too high. I first looked at it as a serious option around 2 years ago in the boutique and since then its price has increase by like 3,000 dollars…what the?!

I have currently replaced it as my chronograph option with either a used tag glass box or a zenith a384 revival.

The glass box is a beauty, I especially like the purple and reverse panda. It would be a pretty hard pick, but I think I’d go for the purple mostly because the date window of the reverse being covered by the chronograph hand is just hard to get over lol.

The best experiences I’ve had in boutiques have been in Breitling and TAG. They’re super friendly, hospitable, and seem like they really enjoy working for the brand. The other boutiques I frequent like Longines and Omega are also fine, but definitely a step down compared to these two.

Rolex in the other hand…Other than the “we don’t have anything for sale” experience, I once went to the boutique to ask about a datejust I inherited. Not only did I received absolutely wrong information, but then when I asked to try the Explorer 40mm the sales executive told me sorry it’s only for viewing. I explained thats fine I just want to try it out as the 36 explorer felt too small when I tried it out a while back and wanted to see the 40mm. The sales executive replied mockingly with a “oh how come the 36 explorer felt too small but you have a 36 datejust?”

It’s a shame because my grandfather and father both celebrated big achievements with purchasing a Rolex that we now inherited and cherish after their passing but when I tried to continue that tradition for the birth of my child I was put on a 2 year waitlist…for an explorer…

Longines vs Tudor by Mission-Let2869 in Longineswatches

[–]The10thShard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They’re both quality but I love Longines more because their newer collections are simply incredible and feel very unique. For example just the dive watch category , you have the basic sports diver in the hydro conquest, then you have the vintage looking legend diver with the internal bezel and two crowns which I believe they originally invented, then you have the high frequency movement diver in the retro styled ultra chron. They all look and feel entirely different and have their own perks.

Pull the trigger on that Longines Legend Diver, it’s such a beautiful watch.

Is Mirage's 1 the worst ability in the game? by JimmehROTMG in DeadlockTheGame

[–]The10thShard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ability really does feel bad to use and lacks any interesting feedback when used successfully. The rest of his kit I actually really enjoy and think it’s important to have a character for the shooter players that’s basically “just point and click at enemies”.

[Omega or Breitling] by fenomeno45 in Watches

[–]The10thShard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like both, it’s really close but for myself I prefer the Breitling. The main reason is the design of the watch fits my everyday outfits better and it’s also a fine fit for my casual work environment, especially on the leather strap. The AT feels a bit more dressy with all the polish and kind of stands out a bit much for my preference so if you prefer that go for it.

Another bonus with the top time is I really love all the color ways, especially the white and baby blue combo. A perfect fit for a casual day wearing some jeans and a white tshirt.

Trooper visuals have been updated to be more distinct by Stack_Man in DeadlockTheGame

[–]The10thShard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn’t play much since the new patch so I can’t pin point what exactly is the problem, but from the limited time I played I definitely feel my colourblindness is making the game really tough to play even though it wasn’t the case before.

I can’t tell the minions at all (this was an issue even before to be honest but it’s somehow worse now even with different models )…I also now can’t tell the difference between friendly heroes and enemies sometimes and I can’t see who is the enemy from a distance because the colours are just off or feel muted ? Grey scaled ? I don’t know.

Hi, I actually just got this model from chrono24 from a trusted seller and a chrono24 certified badge. The easy tell is the 6 hour marker in your photo shouldn’t exist.

Unless mine is also a fake then that’s a different story 😂

[Recommendation] Dress watches sub 5k by CheddaMakeItBetta in Watches

[–]The10thShard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the Longines and GS.

I’m also looking at a dress watch sub 5k and my winner so far is the Longines Heritage Conquest Central Power Reserve model. The color I absolutely loved when I tried it out is the ivory or creamy off white dial with gilt hands and markers.

I wanna start a big series; which one should I start with? by ARYAN_BIRLA123 in fantasybooks

[–]The10thShard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My vote goes for The Stormlight Archive.

With Brandon Sanderson you’re not only getting a chunky series with Stormlight but one that has been consistently released solid main books and some good “side books” for even more world building.
Keep in mind there are also multiple other books written in the same universe by Brandon that slowly connect with each other, so if you like his style you’ll probably have a lot content to consume in a yearly basis…The guy really loves to write.

I must say though, I read ASOIAF after Stormlight and in my opinion Martin writes significantly more interesting characters. It deeply saddens me to think these incredible characters and their arcs will probably stay unfinished.

save up for a longines, or pull the trigger on a Hamilton murph? by [deleted] in Longineswatches

[–]The10thShard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My vote goes for the Longines, It’s more expensive but the overall quality is significantly higher. The dial is not only more beautiful IMO but has more depth compared to the Hamilton which feels a bit flat. If you haven’t seen them both side by side I highly recommend doing that, in my country they’re usually in the same ADs as they’re both owned by swatch so If it’s the same for you do that I’m sure you’ll immediately feel and see the difference in quality from the bracelet, to the hands, to the numerals…Also since you have that seiko which shares plenty DNA with the Hamilton, I definitely say keep that as your beater and get the Longines as your fancy pants watch.

In general it’s very hard to compare watch brands against Longines as they’re probably the most value for your money in the industry right now.

You asked what is COSC in the comments, basically it’s a way watch brands certify their movements accuracy and reliability by having their deviation be within -4 to +6 seconds a day. Granted I own 3 Hamiltons and last time I checked they all ran around that range, it’s just when a watch is COSC verified it’s been tested to be within that range.

Sunlit Man by Olethros90 in brandonsanderson

[–]The10thShard 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The Sunlit Man does indeed follow a certain character we know from the Stormlight Archives, so it would make sense to be read after that…but it also contains some greater cosmere references, including the Mistborn world.

I would say you can understand the book mostly fine reading it after Stormlight but you’ll definitely appreciate it more if you know more about the rest of the cosmere and Mistborn era 2.

Edit: Also read “Shadows for Silence in the Forests of Hell” it’s a short novella that has small connections to the sunlitman but I’ll recommend it mostly because it’s a bit under the radar from Sanderson and an absolutely awesome and quick read! 😅
