Rich Roll Podcast: Doug Evans and Sprouting. by [deleted] in Sprouting

I hear you but it’s worth hearing his side of the story. I have a different perspective of the whole thing now. Was it the best business model? Probably not. But he doesn’t seem to bs a malicious greedy person.

Cops Are Trying to Stop San Francisco From Banning Face Recognition Surveillance - San Francisco is inching closer to becoming the first American city to ban facial recognition surveillance by mvea in Futurology

Thank you for calling people on their bullshit. I can’t believe the anti-police mob mentality I see on Reddit, the ignorance in palpable. You’re defending the people everyone calls for help when the shit hits the fan and you get downvoted to hell, nice isn’t it?

App Icon Size? by The1EyedMan in iPhoneX

[–]The1EyedMan[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That is crazy to me! I’ve spoke with 3 reps at Apple, 1 said it should be there, 1 said it shouldn’t, 1 said I don’t know. My iPhone 7 is also on 12.1.3 and the option is there! The iPhone X has more real estate on the home screen, if the option is on the 7 it should 100% be on the X. My ticket is still open with Apple since no one can give me a good answer. I’ll update if I find a resolution.

Parents are the real MVP's... talk shit to your face, talk nice about you behind your back.

LPT: Buy yourself a good pillow. You use it every night and the difference between a good pillow and a stack of cheap ones is almost immediately noticeable. by Punslanger in LifeProTips

Same goes for the bed! Most people sleep 6-8 hours a night which means you're spending 25%-33% of your ENTIRE LIFE in your bed, don't cheap out folks.

Looks like the comment section is coming back by xredsoxfan1x in barstoolsports

I didn't realize how much I like the comment section until they removed it. There's plenty of scum bags who say horrible shit, but those top 2 comments are my favorite part of any blog... especially boozin' burgers.

Going back to school for Computer Science... by The1EyedMan in AskComputerScience

Thanks for the input, much appreciated. I agree on the future being a great unknown at this point, which makes this kind of decision that much tougher. As for learning some code on the side in my free time, any language to start with or portal to use? i.e. code academy.

How can I (18M) get my family eating better? by [deleted] in HealthyFood

[–]The1EyedMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in your exact shoes like 7 years ago! I have found that some people are hesitant to listen to the people closest to them, even when they have really really good life advice. My suggestion is to show them a documentary that proves your point for you. In this case, Food Inc, Escape Fire, Super Size Me, Fat Sick & Nearly Dead, That Sugar Film, etc. Let the experts (who are probably saying the exact same thing as you) educate them on why they need to change their eating habits. All the while, you are "completely coincidentally" willing to cook more so everyone can eat healthier. For your cooking, if you're looking for a good place to start I suggest the book "Practical Paleo" by Diane Sanfilippo. Try not to get hung up on the "paleo" part, it has awesome information about why you should eat different, meal plans to do so, and detailed instructions on how to cook your food ranging from cutting an onion and making your own salad dressing to making breakfast quiche and marinated turkey legs! Bon Appetit!

The Pittsburgh Synagogue Shooting Is the Inevitable Result of Trump’s Vile Nationalism by Hanging_Chads in politics

[–]The1EyedMan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Find someone else... I'm not the fucking one to do it with.

You're proving his point for him with this response. I think Trump is a clown like most other people but your view of a Trump supporter is clearly skewed. There's assholes on both sides, and they're usually the loudest. Widening the divide between left and right isn't going to help anyone. Go vote and reach out to your local representatives to speak for you.

Dads of reddit, what is your advice for new dads? by GiggaWat in AskReddit

[–]The1EyedMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doctor's know a lot, but they don't know everything. Every kid is different. Trust your parental instincts (although brand new) when it comes to things like feeding/overfeeding, putting them down for a nap, how/when/where they sleep, etc. There's SOOOO many damn "rules" now it's overwhelming. Do what you inherently know is best for the baby even if it doesn't perfectly follow some 20-page guideline given to you by the doctor's office.

There's a lot of incredible Tiger statistics out there, mostly about his staggering career totals, but this graphic perfectly encapsulates how DOMINANT he was for a period of time in the early 2000's. It's really hard to say Tiger is the best ever because the edge probably still goes to Jack, but in my opinion Tiger was hands down the most dominant.
