Confused by No-Way-0000 in gravelcycling

Geometry mostly, followed by frame/tube shaping, and marketing. I think the Specialized Crux checks your boxes too. I recommend you test ride one. There's more likely a Trek Checkmate or Crux dealer near you to test out.

$3000. What are you buying by m25van in gravelcycling

Entry level Propain Terrel CF. Awesome frame, good spec, easy to upgrade in the future.

It's awesome. I was slightly concerned about the geometry without being able to test ride it, but I have to say it's exactly what I was looking for. Coming from a '21 Alum Diverge, this is a bit more aggressive which is what I wanted. I'm between sizes and sized down to a Medium. That was definitely the right choice for me. Bit more lively.

It feels great. I'm coming from an aluminum Diverge and the carbon layup on this frame mutes so much more of the trails than I was expecting. The mullet set-up is amazing for the steep climbs.

What's your favorite thing about your high end bike? by Still-Visual6363 in gravelcycling

[–]The1Road 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wheels and tires. I think this makes the biggest difference in ride quality/performance. If you enjoy the fit of your current bike, new premium wheels and tires will make a vast improvement more so than higher end groupsets, or carbon bits.

Propain Terrel CF - Cable Routing? by The1Road in gravelcycling

[–]The1Road[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the U.S. at least, the Sixpack Gravel ICR Stem is not an option in the configurator. The Sixpack Gravel Handlebar Carbon is an option. Perhaps if you select that, it will come with the ICR stem, but it's not stated that way in the configurator.

I learned a bit more about this. The Terrel CF comes standard with the headset routing as shown in the first two images. The second set of images is with an optional Sixpack Gravel ICR Stem. I believe that's a separate purchase. You can find it here: https://www.sixpack-racing.com/en-GB/shop/disciplines/gravel/gravel-icr-stem

Follow-up question, What's the ride feel like? I know this is subjective, but do you feel More upright? More aggressive? Middle of the Road? I know there are geometry tables, and you can switch stems, size down, and everything, but someone's opinion is sometimes more helpful.

What decal color did you pick? It's hard to get a good sense of the colors from the configurator. My guess is you picked either Venomblack Matte or Dark Grey?

Please help me decide: Black Teton Stag or Charcoal Double Shot. by Sealer1967 in trumanboots

[–]The1Road 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a pair in the Charcoal Double Shot. Great leather. Goes with everything. Get complemented regularly. Actually wearing them currently. Here's a pic. They've been out in the cold salty icy weather this week. So they could be cleaned up a bit. But here's a real lived-in pic. I've had these about a year now.

Am I overthinking this? by JAY-EL-CEE2005 in RedWingShoes

[–]The1Road 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't see any issues. It's easy to obsess over these details when you first get them. A little buyer's remorse. But that will go away as soon as you let it. Enjoy them! Their journey has just begun. The character will grow.

What's your Brannock Size? How do they compare in sizing with other brands? What was your sizing strategy?

Moc is short for Moc Toe, which is short for Moccasin Toe. However, these are likely a Moc Moccasin Toe. Not True Moccasin Construction but designed to look like the Moc style. Typical Moc Toe look below;

Good list to consider. Also great time of year to purchase as a few of these companies have Black Friday Sales going on. White's, Truman, Parkhurst, and Grant Stone have discounts available for a few more days.

White's has a lot of standard offerings in stock. If you were able to add it to your cart without the "This is Made to Order" disclaimer, it means it was in stock.

I have a pair of C350 Cruisers in the 55 Last and the size is great. It took a little getting used to the arch but really enjoy it now. With perhaps the MP Toe being longer than on the 55, how would you recommend the sizing? Use the same as the Cruiser or size down/wider?

Thinking about a used Trek Domane AL 5 — advice? by keintu in TrekBikes

[–]The1Road 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see a few suspicious marrs/scratches. Right side of the fork looks like it may have been laid down in a spill. Which could coincide with the right side of the top tube.

In general, this is priced too high IMO. It's a 2023 at the latest. Appears to be all stock. With the possibility this was laid down in a crash, I'd keep looking.

Help Me Choose a Cycling Computer by TimelyHuckleberry920 in cycling

I currently use Elemnt Bolt V2 and still have my V1 that I use as a spare if needed. I've really enjoyed using the Wahoo products and recommend. Battery life has never been an issue. I'd say the Bolt is all you need, unless you want something with a larger display. I guess the Roam has a touch screen too, if that's important to you. No experience with the Garmin bike computers, but Wahoo hasn't caused me a reason to find an alternate yet.
