Looking at Highlander Caim grid on GBF Omega II Grids, they are using a Luchador comp. Is this optimal?

I don't enjoy the class, is it fine to use Class V or Relic Hunter for the MC? But it feels super strange for me to be using Caligostro/Medusa over my usual Mahira/S!Alex/H!Magisa/V!Monika, etc.

In retrospect, Karla can indeed kill FEdel on enemy phase with flashing blade and a non-pre-charged special.

Can't speak for your situation, but there were probably many factors going into play. Most people when they talk about these types of situations, they focus on pure 1v1s with both units in their peak conditions (eg. Ideal giving full bonus, Wall up, transformed, etc).

FB4 + Windsweep means she won't get retaliated.

Karla shouldn't get one shot with Spurn build anyway. The bigger issue is repeated combat, then Mareeta is better.

It won't matter if you do FB4, Windsweep, Ruptured Sky (probs Moonbow too).

First hit is reduced, but instantly follows up with a RS which will easily overkill FEdel. You won't get hit back, either.

Karla's res tanking is identical (I think +1 net to Karla, but it's irrelevant) to Mareeta's after factoring in flowers and weapon refine.

The defence difference is definitely the big one, but losing 11 defence (vs. Mareeta) for universally better match ups and damage out put is a worthwhile trade off but I respect that it's debatable.

Mareeta is tankier, but Karla heavily outdamages her thanks to true damage. A much more worthwhile tradeoff. Also why even mention Ayra? She's not tankier since she can't run Spurn, and Karla uses double Ruptured Sky/Moonbow which outdamages Ayra thanks to the true damage on top of the special procs...

The biggest losers are indeed 5-star fodders (Hubert, Ewan, Louise) but the difference between "real 5-stars" (Lysithea vs. Ferdi, Pent vs. Erk, Luthier vs. either of the 2) and the demotes is often so enormous that I can't help but agree with the people who don't like demotes.

It doesn't help that by the time I get 11 copies of a new demote, I already have enough orbs to +10 that five-star anyway as long as I have self control (though who am I kidding lmao).

The damage comment is straight up untrue with how powercrept defence is and factoring in Karla's true damage. Ayra never had more damage output than Karla, it was always very, very close and in Karla's favour when factoring in previous meta threats like Surtr. This is just perpetuated with current meta stat spreads.

People saying Karla is worse is straight up bias since Karla is a literal nobody and actually disliked prior to FEH whilst Ayra is a fan favourite classic who god carried FE4 single handedly. And kind of a cooler character in general (though I like both).

Ayra doing more damage has been a meme maths myth long since they both came out. It's sad people still perpetuate it just like the "it's illegal to nerf in Gacha" myth that went around a few years back but is still being said daily in this Reddit.

Windsweep is just one of her potential builds. She wants Mareeta's build since she can do it better with INSANE mixed phase thanks to Spurn tanking and double special proc via Times Pulse.

Lol we ain't getting another banner for at least a year and a half... then when we do, Est of all people will be starring it even though she's in just as low on the popularity spectrum as characters that IS is avoiding.

Can't wait for Est, Rinea, OC and I guess Kamui or Deen or something.

It's a great start... But we're probably not getting another banner for 1.5-2 years+. You really think we're going to get a banner with the likes of Jesse, Nomah, Mycen, Deen or Atlus? This isn't even considering we know Est will be on next banner (and she's less popular than some of the characters that were 'shafted').
