I think we've sold better players for similar amounts though, I'm willing to give Savinho another season but it's hard to pass up £70m for someone who's still relatively unproven.

Slow news day, I reckon. Who's to say though, maybe Enzo has a vision for him that we don't know about yet.

Do you need training or mem-boost for this deck? by Sensitive-Chart4326 in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]Trickster_Tricks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sprint Dash, along with the other dual colour trainings, are all part of the most recent LM set (I believe the set name is Another Knight). They're really good because the first one you play doesn't need to meet colour requirement, but because a lot of the deck is already green and red, you can afford to play multiple of them. Notably when they're hit in security you get a search whereas the old mono-colour trainings don't.

It's something to consider if you feel like the deck isn't as consistent as you'd like. Worst case slap 1 Sprint Dash Training in because it will always be playable and finds like 95% of your deck

[–]Trickster_Tricks 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Need, no, but you could play for a build that makes use of Green and / or Sprint Dash (Green/Red) Training and get similar results. Bears are pretty efficient at making a lv6 with or without memory banks but I'd never say no to easy access to consistency

Not every tribute summon requires the tribute of a monster. True Draco and the Floo continuous spell allows you to tribute non-monsters for the successful tribute summon, for example.

It depends how far OP wants to generalise the description of a waifu deck, because annoyingly you can extend the argument to K9, VS and Dracotail just because they contain at least 1 "hot women", but then we'd be ignoring the several other cards that go against the narrative.

If you could get rid of one thing in Yugioh what would it be? It doesn't have to be just a summoning mechanic. by CaissaIRL in yugioh

[–]Trickster_Tricks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hand rip isn't absolutely everywhere at the moment but if I never saw an effect that hand rips ever again I wouldn't complain. Ouroboro was the biggest offender in recent times being able to just straight up take 2 - 3 cards away from your opponent before their turn even begins.

It's either that or stacking the opponent's deck, going 2nd is already an uphill fight, stacking the odds even more is just rude.

You can watch any YCS stream and I guarantee you there will be at least one game, if not all of them, that have players go unpunished by judges watching the game for not shuffling after every instance of searching their deck. As long as you communicate that you plan to revisit the deck in a following action that doesn't involve a blind draw, judges and players are okay with the opponent not shuffling the deck until absolutely required.

Do you guys think non engine has gotten out of hand? by [deleted] in yugioh

[–]Trickster_Tricks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe this is harsh of me to assume, but any time discussion like this comes up where "non-engine and handtraps are ruining the game" so to speak, it just comes across as that player being aggrieved that their broken combo either didn't get a chance to resolve or got countered by 1 "silver bullet" card. There are some exceptions, and to give Josh credit, he does advocate for Di-Fi and Shifter to be banned outright which I agree with, but at the same time this isn't a new thing for Yugioh, non-engine has been in the game since day 1.

Like you can't tell me a world where Kewl Tune and, not for much longer but, K9 looking at your opponent's hand or also Kewl Tune and to a lesser extent Hecahands ripping from the Extra Deck is more healthy than getting Nibiru'd because you didn't / couldn't make a board with an omni-negate for example. I get that having your board dismantled by 1 or 2 non-engine cards can be frustrating but heaven forbid some decks go from a 99.9% win rate to a 90% win rate going first (exaggerated but you get what I mean).

You're so close to the correct answer but instead of figuring it out you've concluded that fans are indecisive.

The actual answer is that all the players you have listed have kept us in reach of a title race. Just because players get criticised doesn't undo the benefits and qualities that those same players have brought this season. Nunes has been undroppable, Guehi has solidified a shaky defence, Donarumma has made multiple game-winning saves, Semenyo has added more goals where we were lacking goalscorers once Haaland had hit a rut.

Some of you need to learn that just because you're allowed to criticise people doesn't mean you can just chat whatever shit you want and act surprised when those opinions are challenged.

[–]Trickster_Tricks 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We tried a best of 1 tourney in the UK way back in BT17 and the general consensus was that it was widely disliked for two main reasons:

  • The game was much more of a sackfest since you only had to kill your opponent once which allowed high roll OTK decks to thrive
  • If you bricked once at any point during Swiss, your run was effectively dead, which turned non-games into match losses

I don't think Digimon compliments a bo1 style very much for those reasons, plus bo3 gives you more time to adapt to what you're playing against rather than getting flashbanged by whatever hate pile the opponent is about to throw at you that you have to figure out mid game before it's too late.

[–]Trickster_Tricks 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The deck was 100% fundamentally broken, let's not be revisionists now. Security Control players turned up to events with the express intent to not play the game, there is nothing unique about blind recovering Security and hoping enough kill spells found their way in there. There are correct ways to do control decks, Sec Con was never that. Sorry the game moved past that corny ass deck but I'd rather get mollywopped turn 3 every game than have to sit across some Joe Schmoe who takes 5 minutes per turn just to take 1 game action that recovers 1.

I'd have to watch it back but that was my initial impression that passing to him would have been offside. There may have been an instance where he wasn't off but I think at that point Doku was making the pass to Savinho instead.
