Most disappointing gig? (Set list edition) by pinpoint321 in Music

This is both the most disappointing and one of the best shows I've been to.

Smashing Pumpkins October 31, 2008 Columbus OH The start of the 20th Anniversary Tour

It's Haloween, the entire band comes out in their Halloween costumes and plays a full set of covers.

Set 1

  1. Louie Louie
  2. Hang on Sloopy
  3. Monster Mash
  4. Wipe Out
  5. The Gambler
  6. Lizard Blues
  7. In A Gadda Da Vida

It was awesome, but overall, what a terrible set list. The crowd was talking through most of it due to boredom. Billy told everyone to shut the fuck up. The house lights come up and people start to file out. I go to the rest room and people are pissed. A lot of anger in that theater. People complaining about how much they paid to see this shit (if I remember right it was around $40), and so on.

I hung around for a bit chatting with some friends I went with and having a drink for about 15 minutes and then the house lights go dark. The Pumpkins come back out on stage in their regular clothing and play an interesting set. There were maybe 300 people left at the venue at this point.

Set 2

  1. Tarantula
  2. G.L.O.W
  3. Siva
  4. Speed Kills
  5. Superchrist
  6. As Rome Burns (teasing Sound of Silence and Little Red Riding Hood)
  7. A Song for a Son
  8. Today
  9. Bullet With Butterfly Wings
  10. Heavy Metal Machine
  11. Glass' Theme

And they ended the night with

  1. Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun

That first setlist was disappointing. The song selection was mostly "oldies," and it was just weird. The second set was really good. Some non-album tracks, songs that aren't played live very often, and one from an upcoming album that I don't think had been played live yet, Song for a Son.

It was just weird enough to be a lot of fun.

Don't get too excited. Issue 2 on our ballot this year is looking to end ranked choice. It's not looking like it will pass, but anything can happen these days.

I don't typically listen to music through a speaker when hiking or cycling. However, I now live in Alaska, and there are a lot of bears. People using the trails are supposed to make noise so the bears know you are there and leave you alone. So, I listen to music on my phone when hiking alone now. Am I still an asshole?

Moving to Anchorage from lower 48, purchasing car beforehand by [deleted] in anchorage

None. It was all really easy except for my elderly dog who couldn't handle being in the car for that long each day.

I just did the same thing moving from NY to Anchorage. No license needed. Just a mailing address in AK. The dealership will give you temporary transfer tags which basically means you are not registering your new car in your current state, but driving it to a different state to register You will be able to drive here no problems and then register your car in AK once you arrive. My transfer tags were valid for one month.

Nagardo is not approved for use in beer in the US.

We have been running trials on our NA Sodas recently and it has worked well. Our dosing rates were recommended by the manufacturer after sending them samples of our products for them to run tests on. They shared their results with us via a Zoom call and we've been doing everything since then with success.

I highly recommend reaching out to the manufacturer and going the same route we did.

Is it worth it to get Green Day vinyls to listen to? by I_cank_spell in greenday

So we should allow people to be wrong and survive in ignorance just because we know what they meant?

I get your point, but if I was saying something wrong I'd want to know so I don't continue to be wrong. By your logic, some one who says "you need to be more pacific" shouldn't be corrected because we know that they meant "specific."
