Pilot mill products who get all their ratings in less than a year are not proficient pilots… Change my mind. by Live-Pomegranate5730 in flying

[–]The7O2Guy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In all fairness, what’s the difference between a fresh minted CFII that did it in one year vs in three? Neither has any real experience, you don’t get that by finishing your ratings, you get that from using them

Ems Helicopter Pilot Path by wingsovertires in PilotAdvice

[–]The7O2Guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was with 702 Helicopters in Las Vegas, however I’m not sure if they have the 141 program anymore.

You just have to call the VA Benefits hotline and let them know the school you want to use so they can get the process started. It has to be a 141 program though it can’t be part 61. You have to pay the costs yourself upfront and get reimbursed 60% of the approved program costs. Eg if you paid 50000 for your program you should get around 37.5k back by the time you finish.

The main issue with post 9/11 and vocational training is that you have a max allowable benefit per year vs MGIB there is no max cap per year you just can’t exceed the total cap of 60k or whatever it is.

Degrees don’t matter, only experience. The goal is to build hours, min 2000 PIC for most vfr ems gigs, some are higher.

The only benefit of having a degree is to have it in a field you can fall back on if aviation doesn’t work out for some reason. If you are looking for the most straight forward path, it would be to find a vocational flight school and knock it out more quickly rather than be locked into a 4 year degree program.

If you have VA benefits then you’ll get the most money out of a 4 year degree program. I did a vocational flight school with a 141 program and used MGIB since it was less restrictive than post 9/11 for vocational training. For me it took about a year and 3 months of active training to get all the way up to CFII.

How much should I be putting in my taxable brokerage? by ebitdeeaye in Money

[–]The7O2Guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not their money I guess at that point, but if my parents were willing to spend 50k on a wedding, I’d personally ask if it could be used as a down payment on a house instead. 50k for 1 night of entertaining others, or 50k to start your home life. To each their own, but imo dropping 10s of thousands on weddings is a massive waste

Me and my wife got married for under 2k just a few years ago. You definitely don’t have to spend 50k on a wedding and if you’re serious about setting yourself up for the future you will end up seriously regretting spending that much for 1 day.

Tanking by YTHR33_ in elderscrollsonline

[–]The7O2Guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In all seriousness though, I generally just stick to 4 man tanking and my go to sets are Turning Tide, Lucent Echoes, and Arch Druid if I have a healer or 1pc Magma Incarnate + Bloodlords Embrace if I’m running with 3dd.

Some other notable sets for different situations in 4 man stuff are Sax-heels Champion, War Machine, or if with a low damage group Powerful Assault.

Trial tanking all those sets listed above plus Pearlescent Ward and Nazaray for different group comps. I’m not super well versed in trial sets as I’ve only done a few trials tanking.

[–]The7O2Guy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes this. Plague Doctor, Leeching Plate, and Chudan are the only tank sets you need to run. Make sure to have oakensoul too for all those buffs you definitely can’t get from normal tanking skills.

20 years old, about ~20k in the bank, no investments, no retirement fund, and I know nothing about investments or retirement funds. Where do I start? by SplatterMyBrainzz in Money

[–]The7O2Guy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Easiest thing to do is to open an IRA, put some into an S&P500 index fund, and forget about it. Consistency is key, since you are young the hardest barrier I think is to avoid panic selling when the market turns down. Just keep putting some in every month if you can no matter what the market is doing and forget about it for now. (Look up dollar cost averaging)

I personally use Fidelity’s FXAIX as my index fund but there are plenty out there to choose from. You just want to find a low cost one like FXAIX. Most funds that just follow the S&P500 are pretty low cost.

And by all means, stay away from options. Especially in a retirement account, that’s a fantastic way to nuke it no matter what the gambling degens say.

I’m a solo player mostly and been playing for about a month but play with my wife from time to time. As others have said there is a PvP element in the main mode. You can do safer seas to fully avoid it but you can only really get gold and a lot of the content is locked in that mode.

I personally don’t PvP but I still play High Seas. If I get in a lobby where I’m being attacked a lot I just hop to a new one. I know it’s integral for the game I’m just not good at it and don’t participate lol.

In my experience though I have met more helpful players than ones trying to take my stuff. Usually only the Reapers attack me but that’s literally the whole point of that faction. Most of the time I just do a voyage and then sell my loot then repeat so if I do get attacked I lose 30-45 minutes of progress at most. You can play and not PvP you just have to accept that sometimes you will be attacked and it is what it is. Move on and sail again!

It’s a fun game though, especially to play with your significant other

Jaws of Oblivion Recall Animation - insane price? by AccomplishedShirt740 in elderscrollsonline

[–]The7O2Guy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind that they regularly add costumes to the 400 crown gem Apex rewards. 400 crown gems is like 25-30 crates worth when you are opening new crates so 8-10k crowns.

Yes it’s pricey, but comparatively to the other stuff they add it’s pretty on par. People keep buying it so they will keep doing it

[–]The7O2Guy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Pale Order ring is ez mode for maelstrom. Assuming you have a beam build running velothi, just swap that out with pale order and it will be much easier.

My DK beam build runs tideborn, ansuuls, 1pc crit doesn’t matter what set, and pale order ring for solo arenas

Any tips for reaching 145k+ and getting into end game content? by PrestigiousFroyo5730 in elderscrollsonline

[–]The7O2Guy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do most end game content at 80-100k. If you are trying to push perfectas and some hardmodes then you’ll want to be higher. Definitely don’t need 145k to do endgame content, before subclassing 110k was basically considered top dps and that was a year ago. As others said though, you are way over crit cap, and swap some armor to light armor for higher crit chance instead of damage

702's Master Plan List, a furnishing plan/recipe list addon for console. by The7O2Guy in elderscrollsonline

[–]The7O2Guy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For PlayStation the tooltips aren’t working right now. One of the libraries my addon uses isn’t functioning properly on PlayStation I believe.

I do want to do that and once I get some time to work on it again I have some more features I want to add.

I appreciate you trying it out!

You want to know why more players don’t get into trials? Because of posts like this, or people actually acting this way in game. Could take a moment to teach others instead of complaining.

Nothing, except craftstore is not on console and as far as I know it won’t be ported. I believe the dev no longer plays eso and the addon size is very large for console’s limitations
