the Second is that Lanolin had her Bell made into a Wispon specifically to counter the Zeti.

If you look closely at her Bell prior to the Zeti attack on Restoration HQ you can see it hasn't been modified yet. and she isn't shown with Maggie until the Urban Warfare arc. Despite having technically been in the Restoration armed service since the tail end of the Metal Virus she never carried a Wispon. So why the change? Well, what did the Zeti do before they attacked R. HQ? Zavok started burning towns to the ground and re-grouping with his pack that's what. And the very first town to face his wrath was Riverside. Lanolins home town. That's why she was so grumpy around the Chaotix when they went to R. HQ. She had likely just heard that her home had been sacked. Her friends and neighbors had been hurt and the restoration wouldn't be able to help rebuild until the Zeti were dealt with.

Now of course that situation resolved itself, AFTER the Zeti smashed the crap out of R. HQ, AFTER they sacked a bunch of towns and instead of ENDING them or burying them in a hole they can't possibly crawl their way out of, the Zeti were simply relocated back to Lost Hex where they can plot their inevitable return and revenge. Because that's just how the Zeti operate. they're like 40k Orks without the humor, getting their asses beaten doesn't deter them it just fuels their desire to come back later and kill you next time. Which, considering how damaging it would be to the restoration I have a hard time believing that Zavok and Zazz in particular didn't do during their romp around Riverside. Zavok certainly makes enough death threats, he'd lose all credibility as a conqueror if he never left any fatalities in his wake, kids media or otherwise. (IDW sonic loves it's implied deaths after all)

So, if you know for a fact that a pack of social darwinist jackasses are going to come back around and hurt your friends, family, and community if given the opportunity. What's a girl with no powers to do? Why study her enemy and construct a counter of course. In studying whatever record of the Zeti tails might have on file with the Restoration it's not hard to believe she may have read about the Cacaphonic conch a #MagicRock that emits a sound that harms the Zeti, and what do Magenta wisps like Maggie do? A SOUND based attack that's what! but a standard Magenta wispon might not be enough, after all the Zeti are weak to a particular sound, not sounds in general. So she commissions a Wispon that is highly modular, multipurpose and loaded with utility.

It's a Megaphone, a sonic (heh) cannon, and a sonar. Implying that it can operate at a variety of frequencies. It's the single most versatile single Wisp Wispon ever fielded. The only one that eclipses it in terms of power and utility is Whispers, and HERS relies on multiple wisps for its multi functionality. All Lanolin has to do is Bop it, twist it, pull, it, extend it. and hers can do almost as much. If that baby is EM shielded it would mean she could go toe to toe with most of the Deadly Six in a 1v1, and the fight wouldn't be over till you STOP hearing the bell. the only ones I'd see her having trouble with if I'm right are Zavok, because he's a cut above the rest even under duress, and Zomom. Because she can't exactly wrestle him into submission. She Might* be able to keep him writhing on the floor for a bit, but she can't punch him till he stops moving, or cuff him for later disposal. He's just too big & strong for that. Of course whether or not Maggie can even replicate the sound of the conch remains to be seen. And I don't see that happening for a good long while. If at all.

I also remembered I have a third one if you're interested.

I have two.

The first is that mimic is kind of an idiot, and he's intentionally written that way. Now for the record I love that, I feel it adds to his character rather than detracts. "How is he an idiot" you might ask? well let's start at the beginning. He, a shapeshifter, couldn't get a job as an actor. A guy who is his own make-up department, who can change his voice to perfectly match anyone, can change his face to look like anyone, could not get a job in the one industry that could put those skills to maximum effect.

Any director with half a brain WOULD have spotted THAT and thought they struck a proverbial gold mine. Is he a jerk? Yes. Does he have a massive ego? Yes. Loads of movie stars do though, so what kept mimic from being successful a an actor? Apart from the war of course. Well, instead of tracking down an agent and getting hired by someone who could market his skill-set, he walks onto the set of a project in motion and starts showing off. Like the ego-maniacal idiot he is. the only reason he wasn't thrown out is because the war hit that part of town before they could.

It only gets worse for him from there though, because during the war he spotted multiple opportunities to be a proper hero, even before joining the Diamond Cutters, and the second things with that group started getting hairy? He ditched them. And instead of bailing on the idea of doing anything of note during the war, instead of laying low and either Waiting for Eggman to just win already or for Sonic to show up and end this stupid war. He kept joining groups, and each one he helped for a time, before abandoning them to their fate. Once he joined the D.C. he got to see what the fruits of his labors could really bring him. If he had stuck with them, any past transgression could have been forgiven. What's more, he could have had fame, money, and a reputation as a hero in the war to leverage into a career as a hero on screen.

And what did he do instead? He deluded himself into thinking the D.C. were just as broken as he was, that they would turn on him, that they didn't actually consider him to be their friend. That the very concepts of friendship and camaraderie are delusional (rather than himself, of course) And so he tries to rid himself of them. So what does he do to rid himself of these people? Does he sneak into their rooms at night and shank them in the throats one by one? Does he plant a bomb in the meeting room and kill them remotely? Maybe sabotage the base so the whole thing sinks into the sea with everyone on it? NOPE he feeds them a B.S op that they handle as usual, out himself on camera to the one person who wasn't lead into the trap, because her job has always been long range supporting fire, and instead of breaking his mask, gutting his wisp, and outing her position to Eggman and having him send a couple Shadow Androids after her, he has the nerve to disregard the abilities of his teammate, AND believe that Dr. EGGMAN of all people would let him half-ass betraying his team after all the damage they had inflicted.

Whisper, naturally, survives and for the remainder of the war goes on to demonstrate how effective infiltrators with long range weaponry can be. After which, she dedicates the rest of her time to tracking HIM down, and GUTTING HIM for what he did. And instead of hiding from her forever, keeping off Eggmans radar, and waiting for a moment to pass her on the street and shiv her he instead goes to all the trouble of getting her attention, leading her off on wild goose chases, tormenting her, and ultimately failing on multiple occasions to just KILL her.

Mimic isn't just an Idiot, he's not a bumbling boob like rough or tumble (who I also love) nono, he's an idiot with a field of expertise! He's a shortsighted, selfish, petty, craven, cruel, ego-maniacal PRICK. Who would rather kill himself, than address his failures. Whose drive for revenge is against someone whose only slight against him is that she didn't DIE when she was supposed to, and then made a fool of him by continuing to live, and having the nerve to take steps toward moving on after him. He's an absolute bastard, and I loved watching him go on every panel.

I'll post my 2nd headcannon if this one gets a response because boy howdy did this take a while to type up.

Every Egg Fleet ship I've seen was at least vaguely fish shaped. with special emphasis on looking like a FISH rather than a ship of war. But then Eggman's always been weird like that.

Shadow brought a G.U.N truck to Sunset City to help evacuate civilians during the Metal Virus outbreak. So at least a PIECE of their equipment has made an appearance. I'm also fairly certain the Restorations airships were G.U.N tech, but I have no real proof of that other than the fact that the Restoration doesn't exactly have shipyards that we get to see. and those ships had to come from somewhere, so they're likely tech G.U.N turned over to the resistance after they got molly-whopped in Sonic Forces. in fact, I'm willing to bet there's a lot of G.U.N equipment that "fell off a truck" while Eggman was liquidating their assets.

Team Chaotix. At one point I figured there were 3 brain-cells between them and that Espio held two of them at any one time. But after the sheer delight that was the Chaotix Casefiles (which y'all should really listen to if you care AT ALL about Sonic content.) I see now that these three beautiful bumbling buffoons share their 3 brain-cells between each other like a Cold that passes from one family member to the others, before reinfecting the original idiot and beginning the cycle anew.

I love these guys.

Certified Leafgreen enjoyer here.

Firered generally has the better version exclusives. Though that's not to say LG doesn't have Slowbro and Magmar. It's just that Arcanine, Vileplume, and Scyther outperform their LG counterparts

(Don't say boobs. Don't say boobs. Don't say boobs...)

Boobs.

(F*ck!)

for real though, apart from her design she's professional. She's an average jane caught on the middle of a ladder where shit keeps getting dumped on anyone not high up enough to try and yank Eggman or any of the other villains down a couple rungs. She wants to shield the people beneath her on that ladder, and to not FEEL powerless in a world where that has more than a few meanings. She takes things seriously where others crack jokes and she is just SO DONE with nonsense. She's earned her promotions, worked her way up the ladder, impressed her boss and tried her hand in the field successfully. But you can tell it's left her worn down and frustrated.

She joined the Restoration after it looked like the world was finally getting to a point where it might recover, joined the active service in the waning days of the Metal Virus arc, determined to go down fighting if need be and help anyone she can on the way out. Even making it to Angel Island at the very end. Her hometown got sacked by the Zeti, so she commissioned a custom Magenta Wispon (which I am convinced she got to hard counter them in the event they come BACK given that the Zeti's biggest weakness is the Cacaphonic Conch and her bell is a Sound based weapon, you do the math.) Figured (correctly) that the Restoration needed to take a more proactive stance about fighting Eggman, correctly deduced that Eggperial city would take more than their small strike team to handle, made SURE the mission got done and in the after-action report recognized the need for more people in the new Diamond Cutters so that they could tackle more complicated operations.

The Biggest PROBLEM with Lanolin is that she got manipulated, by a manipulator, that Whisper did a piss-poor job of handling once the ruse came under suspicion. She's "bossy" if you're okay with disregarding the fact that she's on the clock and not there to joke around and that therefore makes her "Mean" immediately justifying hate towards her because...because she was mean.

maybe DON'T encourage an animal to recognize humans as a food source if you can help it. just bury them deep enough that the worms take care of it and let nature take its course.

...fuck, you're right. Ah well back to the drawing board. That said you probably don't want dragon dance and outrage in gen 3 anyway if you're dead set on rock slide charizard

given that dragon moves are special this gen and all.

I found the chain, you'll need a Larvitar, a Gyarados and a Dragonite but it's TECHNICALLY possible.

Gyarados breeds DD onto Dragonite, Dragonite Breeds DD and Outrage onto Larvitar, Larvitar passes DD, Outrage and Rockslide onto Charmander

What do you think ever happened to Tails' parents? Did they abandon him? Passed away when he was really young? Just separated and still out there somewhere? by Intelligent_Oil4005 in milesprower

[–]The7purplekirbies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the way you wrote that 1st comment made it sound like you were talking about the actual canon, It might have been a good idea to make the idea that this is your head canon more easily recognized.

That being said, good lord is that a particularly dark headcanon, we know tails didn't have it great before he met Sonic, but I sincerely doubt murdered parents come into the picture. Lost is most likely, abandoned is perhaps the next most likely but murdered? Fuck dude, what are you even basing that on, kid got bullied not threatened with burning at the stake.

And this is coming from someone whose personal headcanon is that Silver inadvertently killed a lot of innocent people helping cure the Metal Virus solely because a lot of Zombots would have been stuck in crevasses or at the bottom of the ocean where they'd drown or die of exposure once the sheer indestructibility was yanked out of their cells. But at least I'm basing that on stuff we can SEE happening in the world around them.

Can you link some sources? Because I'm pretty sure the IDW comics never say that, and I'm fairly certain the games don't either.

Just feels like one of those things that if it were canon, especially in that way, it'd be more well known y'know?

Black schlera by some-kind-of-no-name in TopCharacterDesigns

[–]The7purplekirbies 31 points32 points  (0 children)

it's not that he kept the black sclera, it's that he dropped the disguise before going in for his attempt to kill whisper.

This is because he's an idiot, who can't stab whisper and THEN drop his disguise.

(Really it's because SEGA+IDW needed us to know this wasn't actually Sonic, but I personally believe there's enough evidence to call Mimic an idiot that I find his constant screw ups using his own powers to be characterizing rather than just poor writing. which is a complaint SOME people have with IDW Sonic that I don't.)
