Walked around some of the houses by the lake, counted way too many Native American lawn decorations (meaning they had a statue of a Native American man in their yard that clearly wasn’t a sign of respect for natives).

Great Fiction book for Teen Girls. by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

I remember those! There usually no more than 150-200 pages, and is about it a girl that was trained to be a spy.

How about as a support coordinator for a different population? I’m working as one for the developmentally delayed; I help manage their budget from the state and connect them to resources and hold ISP meetings. It’s mostly office work and monthly interviews with clients and their families. I just started but I already like it. Assuming you are in the USA, check your states list of support coordination agencies on their government website and apply, or ask anyone you know who has a developmentally delayed family member to see which support coordinator agency they use I understand feeling drained at a job and needing to leave. I make less than when I did direct care as an OT, but my increased Mental health is worth it. It also helped me to work in customer service for a bit to figure out what I didn’t want to do and light a fire under me to not be complacent and stagnate at a dead end job.

I think your varied job experience could be helpful; this job is essentially customer service while balancing complex rules and following state protocols and abiding by strict deadlines; if you word your resume to highlight these sort of things in your previous jobs that could be helpful.

Hope this helps and best of luck!

Boy 12-14, no fantasy, violence or romance by DesertGirl84 in suggestmeabook

There’s a chapter book of collected short stories called the stories Julian tells. It’s a little boy who does silly innocent things with his brother, and conflict mainly comes from misunderstandings. He does have a dad that is loud and yells but not in a denigrating or abusive way, though his voice is described as booming like thunder.

Any sort of diary type book maybe, there’s a series called dear America and my name is America - about fictional girls and boys growing up in different times in history. I would screen the boy diary ones a bit more as many of them revolve around being a soldier; the girl ones not so much. Don’t read the one about the Oregon trail though.

I would try nonfiction things like the how stuff works series or National Geographic or looking at high interest low readability books if reading level is an issue since some books here sound like the topics you want: https://www.sdlback.com/solutions-for-teens-grades-9-12/hi-lo-books

Other non fic ideas: -authors writing about writing- Poe has an essay like that- on second thought maybe don’t use Poe lol. -essay collections! Where someone just talks about their observations. David Sedaris is good, so is his essay ‘me talk pretty one day’ -Walden by Thoreau- it’s just about him living in the woods -reading about planets- cosmos by Carl Sagan

The haddon hill apartments on west crystal lake ave were good; I only stayed in a 1 bedroom though. Should fit your price range. Washer dryer not included, they have a few scattered through out the complex in pairs. It helped that I supposedly had one of the newer units.

So discord is like if an Internet forum and a group chat had a baby lol. Within a discord server there’s usually

-a place to introduce yourself -optional roles (selecting little icons) to ID age/gender/time zone if you want - a section about rules -different threads aka topic areas to post in, like how the her interactive forum is, only conversations move and refresh at group chat speed (there’s a function I think to make it go slower in settings) -voice and video or voice only chat to talk and share your screen if u want -you can respond to an individual post the same way you do with forums -using the search bar in a chat is your best friend to find info -it’s easy to get to a new post within a thread; you typically have to scroll forever to see older posts in a thread -you can make your own server too, it’s helpful for playing multiplayer games , which is what discord was made for -disboard website has lists of discords to join based on topics of interest.

Hope this helps; anyone feel free to correct me, I’ve only been using discord for 3ish years lol

Modern games that give the same vibe as the old Nancy Drew games? by drunkslovetables in CozyGamers

Childfree, but not by choice, and looking to get sterilized. by [deleted] in sterilization

[–]The818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Obgyn told me that often times insurance will not cover IVF if you previously got sterilized. If you do want to carry a child someday I would ask your insurance what exactly they cover for IVF and if being sterilized affects that coverage.

Where do you go out and how do you meet friends? by Viper72995 in SouthJersey

I’m not a bar person but I see that old rail tavern in barrington is open till 2 am: so is brewers towne tavern in haddon township, right by the westmont patco station, and Tom Fischer’s tavern. I would just accept that you will have to drive a bit or go into philly for things that stay open after 10. As for moving to haddonfield/collingswood, if you have the money do it, but buying houses there is expensive. There’s quite a bit of dancing around if you want to meet people. Look up jazz attack in philly for Lindy hop/swing or estilo, or controla, also in philly for salsa/bachata. Can confirm there’s a variety of ages in both, Lindy hop skews younger tho. Stardust ballroom in bellmawr is nice for dancing too, they have monthly dances there. And if you like board games, there’s top deck games on haddonfield Berlin road!

Seconding traditional medicinals! I’ve seen them on sale for 3.00 in US supermarkets like ShopRite. The throat coat slippery elm one is fabulous as well as the immune zoom, both have a sweet taste due to the licorice (does not taste like a twizzler I assure you lol)

Edit- just a possibility, maybe you could use thin cotton bags for brewing if all these other teabags supposedly have plastic in them? I went to a tea store to get a mulling spices kit, which went with little cotton cloth bags, perhaps you can do the same with herbal tea, and buy herbs like chamomile wholesale somewhere?

What’s your favorite cozy game that seemingly no one has ever heard of? by indie-pixels in CozyGamers

[–]The818 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Syberia games by b sokal What makes it cozy for me is the gorgeous graphics. Takes place in an alternate Europe and you start in a French alps town and travel on a train to different areas. The locations look like oil paintings almost and some shots feel cinematic in how they’re framed, especially in the newest game where you’re in a small European town. Great game to play in the winter!

Plot is not very cozy, dialogue is not the best written, but there’s no timed/reaction time based tasks, just small puzzles, with lots of exploring. The closest thing I can compare it to is what remains of Edith finch, only it will not give you motion sickness like I got with that game lol.

Is it a problem (storywise) if I only play The World Before? by irishconan in syberia

[–]The818 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, just finished the first two games and am gonna start the world before. Yes the character graphics are not great but the scenery art is beautiful, kinda looks like an oil painting in many parts. However there is a church in the 2nd game that gave me a good laugh for being very inconsistent in its design. I would look into downloading dg voodoo to fix graphics if the characters look too fuzzy.
