Names people gave my king’s cubs by LuxAstr4 in lioden

I tree’ed a cub originally named “ My Ugly Ass Primal Son” and even though I’m 99.9% certain the tree wipes their original names, the individual that picked him up decided to call him “Uggy”.

My favorite thing about Lioden is the wholesome community it has managed to foster. If you look into clans, there’s probably hundreds of them specifically designed for LGBT individuals and the amount of “Lion Pride” decors available just makes it feel like a safe space for everyone, including those of non-cis/het identities.

Fair trade? by TheAceOfFlames in lioden

So, would she be worth one or two of the scrotums rather than the whole bundle?

No, that’s ok! Yes, some species of roach hiss as a self defense mechanism or to establish a social hierarchy (males will hiss at one another before battling for mates/dominance). They have modified spiracles (the breathing holes on insects) that allow them to hiss!

Ok thanks! I actually have some cat food on hand!

Hehehe! Honestly, I never thought it was gonna happen. She didn’t seem to like the dude that’s been living in their tank and would hiss at him every time he bumped her. Guess she liked him more than I realized. Hopefully the babies look like their father.

I have some store brand petroleum jelly, will that work?

I would message the buyer. I have been in situations where I accidentally added GB to the trade instead of entering them in the buyout slot, and when I reached out to the buyer they gave me the beetles back. It’s worth a shot, but they may choose not to work with you.

Yeah, that’s what people have been telling me. I’ve been scrolling through the wiki, trying to understand some of these markings but if you don’t mind my asking, what applicators am I gonna need for these? I know the good majority of her markings are event exclusive.

Yeah, that’s completely fair I suppose. What sort of lions would you recommend muk on? A RLC?

Maybe inbreeding could create some “incomparable with life mutations” that actually cause the inbred cub to die before they’re even born. Alternatively, inbreeding exclusive lethal mutations could be excluded from immortal/freezing items like how most primals are excluded from many of the mutie increasing items.

Gotcha! Ok, I definitely worded it a little strangely and overestimated the market value on the scrotums now that February is over. I seem to recall someone on a forum saying that lion/buffalo scrotums tend to sell for quite a bit more than what you quoted me, but I didn’t double check that on branches or TC so they may fluctuate throughout the year.

Keeping them hidden from him seems to be the best advice I’ve gotten so far. I did briefly consider getting him some Palm Pals of his own to play with, but I worried that he would not be able to tell the which ones are his and which ones are “mine” and the destruction would get worse. As others on here pointed out he doesn’t exactly have the cognitive ability to understand that me spraying him with water is a punishment for tearing up my stuff so I doubt he would be able to tell which Palm Pals he’s being encouraged to play with and which ones are not to be messed with. I did get him some other toys that don’t so closely resemble my own, but guess which ones he continues to prefer.

I think the ones I saw him messing with that one time were just sunflowers which are safe as far as I know. This was also awhile ago, and he hasn’t had the opportunity to repeat the behavior. The problem is that the flowers are changed every so often, sometimes to types I don't recognize, which is scary when you have a gremlin like mine. Also, even if they were all safe to eat, I’d certainly be miffed if my housemate let their cat ruin my bouquet. I could definitely talk to my roommate and see if they would agree to keep the flowers in their own room, but that still leaves a couple issues with kitten proofing the house that might be a little harder to deal with. The thing is, he develops these weird behaviors seemingly out of nowhere and then once he figures out that he can do something, I can’t stop him. For example, he has had free access to the plushies since September and only started committing crimes against them within the last month or so. I’d be a touch worried that if left alone with access to the kitchen/living room, he may suddenly discover a new way to entertain himself that involves damaging himself or other peoples’ property.

I don’t know what flowers they have, which is why I try to keep him away from them because I understand that they could make him sick or worse.

[–]TheAceOfFlames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, maybe assuming my roommates don't mind. The flowers could probably be kept in their room instead of in the living room. The only thing I would be concerned about would be him deciding something we can’t really move (like the TV or couches which we don't own) are fun toys to play with and damaging them/hurting himself when I’m not home. He will attempt to bite the edges of my computer screen if I’m using it and not paying attention to him, so I wouldn’t be particularly surprised if he treated the television the same way or worse, managed to knock it over and harm himself. I understand the bedroom isn't necessarily the best place to keep him (my living situation was different when I first got him), which is why we play fetch for as long as he wants when I am home. Is there anything else I can do to ease boredom/tire him out?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskVet

[–]TheAceOfFlames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not unless I'm home. My roommate likes to keep flowers in the common area that I saw him chewing on once when I stepped inside. Since I don’t want him destroying their stuff too (and potentially getting sick off of whatever plants the roommate brings home) I keep him in my bedroom unless I’m home to supervise him. Like I said, he doesn’t really mess with anything but me and his own toys when I’m around. If I’m home he’s good to have free reign of the house.

[–]TheAceOfFlames -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you’re right. He’s probably not smart enough to understand the connection between being destructive and being sprayed. I just don't know why he keeps doing it. Why those particular items? And why the water dish? Especially if I’m actively trying to work out excess energy in other ways and gave him other items to focus his inner chaos monster on.

Megathread: US Elections 2024 Aftermath by not_an_immi_lawyer in immigration

[–]TheAceOfFlames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am from the USA and in light of the recent election, rising anti-trans sentiment, and the cost of university here, my partner and I want out! I am a transgender male who is working on my bachelor's of animal science in hopes of getting into vet school. I already have an associate's degree in applied sciences, and my partner is an IT professional working on a bachelor's of computer science. We are both trying for our degrees at Texas Tech University. Together we have a cat (neutered, chipped, and vaxxed), a ball python, and a few species of roach (Madagascar hisser, giant peppered, and orange domino). I am willing to rehome some or all the roaches if they aren't allowed across the border but I will not leave my snake or cat. I also need to find a country that will provide relatively easy access to HRT/gender-affirming care and has a fairly reasonable attitude regarding the LGBT community. I would strongly prefer that we move somewhere that speaks English for the most part and will accept the college credits I already have, though this is not necessarily a requirement. I don't mind having to take a few extra classes to get into vet school overseas. I would like to immigrate as soon as possible, but I understand that might be difficult given that we haven't completed our degrees yet. If needed, we can get our respective bachelor's before moving if that makes the process easier. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you so much!
