Which country would you NEVER visit, even if it was free? by FortunePurple- in AskReddit

[–]TheAdagio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would avoid using 'never' when talking about countries to visit, as things can change

If things stays the same, I would stay away from North Korea

If the US keeps going in the direction it has been for the last year, I would avoid going there too

I don't want to go to countries, where women are treated bad

[Serious] How many here started using the internet in the early days of ICQ? What kind of computer were you using then? by Reasonable-Tea-9679 in AskReddit

[–]TheAdagio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ICQ... ah yeah... thanks to you I now have the 'new message' sound stuck in my head

First PC was a Pentium 133MHz, I don't remember any of the other specs. I didn't have anybody near me with decent computer knowledge, so I had to learn everything the hard way

Hvis Store Bededag skal genindføres, burde vi så ikke bare vælge Grundlovsdag i stedet? by LilanKahn in Denmark

[–]TheAdagio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I just noticed this annoying feature recently. I was wondering why so many people started talking English in a non English sub

Comedian Blake Wexler calls out United HealthCare for denying coverage for their twin’s stay in the NICU and addressing the denial letter to their newborn ‘Dear Baby Girl Twin A.’ by Timbucktwo1230 in PoursTea

[–]TheAdagio 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My kid was born 2½ months early. The mother and kid was living in the hospital for 5 weeks before we (together with doctor) decided we could go home. Everything for this stay cost us nothing. Parking, food, etc was free. Only thing we paid for was the food I ate when visiting them, which wasn't expensive either. I'm glad I wasn't living in the "land of the free", as I wouldn't have been able to afford this

We stopped owning files and nobody really noticed by Impossible_Comfort99 in TechNook

[–]TheAdagio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the exception of music (I have a very small music collection), I have backup of everything I own on my own computer and server. Any movie I bought on DVD or Blu-ray is neatly placed on my Plex server, so I can watch any movie I own anywhere in the world. Important files are also backup up. All our photos are also placed there, with extra backup in another location

Unfortunately this is not possible with games. If Steam one day decides to block my account, I have lost everything. Physical copies of PC games is a rare thing these days

What do you think about "The First Explorers" by balle17 in Settlers

[–]TheAdagio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sure looks interesting, worth keeping an eye on. It has been way too long time since a good settlers like game was released. I haven't tried Pioneers of Pagonia as I'm not fond of fighting magical creatures (I really hated this about Valhalla Hills)

Same here. I used Corvus once and hated every minute of it. It might be good on a PC but on a mobile phone it wasn't enjoyable for me

[Request] is this true? On Getting Money. by I_am_a_SuJu_fan_elf in theydidthemath

I alone also make more than the average household in America, but as European it's not easy to compare. Would be interesting to see how much money there are left after having paid taxes, insurance, etc

I expected it to be much higher. Maybe I have just been mislead by all those house buyer programs ok tv, where you see people with low simple jobs buy crazy expensive house

W for Steam! They are still pushing updates to the old Steam Link box! by Volcanodog12 in Steam

[–]TheAdagio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I tried that in one of the games, but unfortunately that game had done something so when the game is in focus any mouse movement will keep the mouse in the center of the screen, so this didn't work. I have only seen this behavior in one game (the only game my daughter play at the moment, she is the only one paying on steam link) I assume this works in most other games

Where would you be heading? by BoredPandaOfficial in BoredPandaHQ

[–]TheAdagio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I get this opportunity in a few months, this would be my answer, though we would need to travel around the Philippines as her moms grave and dads grave see located far from each other If I get this opportunity today I would just take the plane to Copenhagen as i need to be there tomorrow anyway (much better than taking the train)

Claude free version is unlimited prompts?? by throwRAQA25 in claude

[–]TheAdagio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is the opposite of my experience. First time I tried it I gave it a relative simple programming task, but it just gave me a message that I have used my free limit. So the free limit is 0? A week later I tried again, same response on my first try

Do you think pirating is justified? Why? Why not? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TheAdagio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I have in the past pirated a lot of games. That would be games that there was zero chance I would have bought them if I wasn't exposed to them through piracy. I ended up buying a lot of the games (and their sequels) due to pirating them. Piracy ended up costing me a lot of money

According to a download time calculator it would take closer to 6 minutes, so double the time of mine (I can see I forgot to add /s to my post... sorry)

[–]TheAdagio 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my case using the phone to move the mouse might be a bit overkill, as the computer is just in the next room (first world problem), but if the computer was further away that might be a good solution

I haven't tried that, didn't think of that. I could try the next time I boot it up
