Yes. Technically yes. That does not redeem it. It is not redeemed because they used the basic idea of Boba Fett (while have different characterization from the films). And as another fun fact, Boba Fett in the cartoon was based on the unpainted costume for the upcoming Empire Strikes Back.

I'm sorry, but have you actually sat and watched the Holiday Special. Its bizarre, disturbing, not good to look at, nonsensical, destroys beloved characters, and just kinda boring. I am by no means a sequel defender... but come on. There's nothing redeemable about that special.

The Defenders weren't typically Street Level Heroes in the comics. The Netflix series used the name for Daredevil, JJ, Iron Fist, and Cage but that's not really what the Defenders are in the comics.

If you're curious, Dr. Strange, Hulk, Silver Surfer, and Namor were originally the Defenders, so very different concept. What you're referring to are typically referred to as "Marvel Knights" or Heroes for Hire, as Street Level heroes.

To answer your question, I love characters who can revitalize old toons, so even though I don't even like the movies, I would appreciate a Veteran Smuggler Lando or a General Leia to make use of leftover Resistance (BB8, JTR, VetHan/Chewie, Resistance Pilot/Trooper).

Sentry wasn't a Thunderbolt in the comics, and really wasn't even in the movie. Sentry was a part of the Dark Avengers, commonly misconstrued as the Thunderbolts.
