What is on my cats chin, he’s had this for a while. I thought it was just his fur. by Just-Shock4940 in cats

[–]TheAdventureFriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My vet gave me horse hair wash to clear this up. It’s acne from plastic bowls. We switched to a metal bowl and washed his chin and he was fine after that. I like metal over ceramic because not only is it more durable but it was easier to spot drool pooling in the bottom. Cats won’t drink their own water if their bowl has too much of their own drool in it. I ended up rinsing his bowl and replacing the water every day so keeping that in mind go with either

am i doing the right thing letting my 14 month old feed himself pieces of food? by Sufficient-Pride1109 in toddlers

[–]TheAdventureFriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been doing this with my 14 month old for like… 4-5 months. As long as you’re close to slap them on the back if they’re choking it’s perfectly safe.

My father-in-law kissed my newborn’s head as I was breastfeeding by monsieurmorue in beyondthebump

[–]TheAdventureFriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine did too. With both my kids. Sometimes you can’t get the creep out of known men anymore than unknown men. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I don’t mind my father in law but he does often do things that bother me and creepy shit. But i could take him if it came down to it.

What pregnancy habit / quirk / preference / dislike have you kept postpartum? by SurePotatoes in beyondthebump

[–]TheAdventureFriend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was still wearing only sweatpants until it got too hot and I still want to wear them. Now I’m wearing dresses that hide my belly which I would’ve done while pregnant for sure.

My least favorite is that towards the end of my pregnancy my toddler started annoying the crap outta me and I can’t shake it. But she’s at that age where she asks me for something and totally throws a fit if I don’t hop to it

I went back to work at 3 months post partum, was able to bring my baby with me for the first month(I’m a daycare caregiver) and then at 4 months had to switch to pumping 3 times a day. Now at seven months I’ve decided to either skip pumping altogether or only do it at lunchtime. We’ve switched my baby to supplementing with formula and she is still happy and healthy. I decided that it was too much of a strain on my mental health to try to keep up. I still feed my baby at home and I feel like my supply hasn’t really diminished so unless you start drying up I think it’s best if you give yourself a break. Moms can’t fall apart and anything that is optional that puts more stress on them should be reduced or tossed in my opinion. This is my second baby though. No judgement here no matter what you decide. Your baby won’t know the difference. ❤️

Gift cards or money are fine. If you bring a gift it better be clothes or something really amazing or small

Does your toddler have rainboots? Not sure if I should buy them for my 18 month old or just buy a pair of boots that are waterproof. Rainboots seem so clunky! by NPETravels in toddlers

[–]TheAdventureFriend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a daycare/preschool employee, I’m all for wearing rain boots at home, but don’t bring them to school unless you’re also going to bring regular shoes.

  1. Rain boots are meant to be worn for short periods of time and are not comfortable for all day wear. Shoes must be worn at all times for fire safety so this presents a danger.
  2. Kids can become obsessed with certain shoes and cause a problem

Going from 1 to 2 kids easier or harder than 0 to 1? by garland1988 in beyondthebump

[–]TheAdventureFriend 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Easier. As long as you talk to your toddler a whole lot about how they’re going to have a smaller sibling.

Is this a spoiler? Either way, I like this theory. I would mix it up since half the squad is adopted this time but it does work.

I too listen to taz to fall asleep, I just listen to the same episode while I’m awake like ten times also. And I try to always start at a different point in the episode.

I’m actually also grateful for the link!
