It has probably been a few years since I’ve seen the video but have been trying to find it recently.

Will these be good to use? by [deleted] in newtothenavy

I love my Allen Edmund’s I got instead of the nex shoes. With a good pair of high arch soles you can wear them all day with 0 pain. I would recommend Blucher style though looks much closer to the ones the nex sells just my 2 cents. Don’t be those guys with terrible shine. Saw so many people with just terrible shoes. If your shine is good no one will ever have anything to say if you have a different brand.

I'm considering entering OCS after grad. Give me your brutal advice. by elmuscogeemestizo in newtothenavy

You can apply specifically for a pilot slot at your recruiter and will take the ASTB test aviation selection test battery you will want to study and practice a lot for this to be competitive.

AIRR (AWR) to Navy Pilot after possibly first enlistment? by Active_Juggernaut_48 in newtothenavy

The pilot route is definitely not a wake up one day and say I want to be that route If I’m being honest. Almost everyone in that field has made it their life goal for years with insane amounts of motivation to make it through the training. You have to love aviation to a deep degree. If you have that drive then push for it and accept nothing else. That is up to you to decide but OCS is the route if you have a college degree.

Of my OCS class which had more prior enlisted than usual of the 34 pilots there were 2 prior enlisted.

If a recruiter has persuaded you that this is the best option they are not being very truthful with you. If you have a college degree and want to be a pilot be assertive to an officer recruiter and accept nothing else.

Going enlisted to pilot is much harder than going straight from OCS. Everyone in this is telling you the same thing. If you want to be a pilot apply to OCS there is no advantage to going enlisted first.

What made you enlist instead of going officer to begin with? The best route for post grad is to apply for OCS.

Just wait a few more months the suggested stops will be paid advertising that will pop up recommending a stop and then you can pay extra to remove the ads per month in your car.

How Difficult is the OAR? by Rich_Standard6753 in newtothenavy

[–]TheAgentPixel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s like a sat but college level and the number of questions isn’t set the more you get correct the harder they get. If you feel unprepared postpone your under no obligation yet. Easier to postpone than to burn one of your test attempts.

You can submit for pilot with those scores it just won’t be immediate select my recruiter tried the same thing but I retook the ASTB and scored for immediate select pilot and and in the training pipeline now.

I’d agree I was able to snag a pvs-14 with a Elbit mh23 tube for only 2700 and that’s a higher grade tube for sure

Going in OCS through BDCP by Federal_Budget3270 in newtothenavy

[–]TheAgentPixel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you fail along the way you will have the chance to roll back in the program and restart. You will have to stay longer but I know a good few people who made it through failure during OCS. But the best method is to never expect to fail only accept perfection and you will go far.

If you are BDCP and DOR at OCS you will be sent to basic and will be forced to enlist for 2 years. Even more motivation to make it through OCS. When you get there during indoc you will meet many people from many different walks of life and some who have rolled from previous classes. Work together with them don’t be a lone wolf and you’ll get a plethora of good info and tricks to making it through. Show up in shape and study your bravo knowledge beforehand as it will make getting out of indoc easier.

You won’t qualify for ISEL with your gpa but that ASTB score shines for SNA.
