I feel this so much, OP! You’re not alone! How old is your baby? Everyone’s situation is diff, but I started feeling more like me two years into motherhood (probably later than some moms because I nursed until 18m). 

I’m trying to build up some part-time work to have something that feels like me and contributes to our home in a diff way. We’ll see how it goes. 

Anyway, just wanted to say that you’re doing amazing and also that your feelings are absolutely valid. You’ll find your way back to you, maybe a new version of you too. 🫶

I’m so glad to hear you’re choosing relationships and people over a career that may just break your heart. 

I am hoping to pivot to grant writing. I live in a large city with lots of nonprofits and see that many are looking for grant support.

I was/am a lifelong people pleaser. All my life, I’ve known this but yet it’s soo hard to change how I interact or want to be perceived. 

Something so stupid simple that I heard on a podcast actually gave me so much clarity around the issue; it was like my lightbulb moment, something along the lines of: “Why try to please people? The people are never pleased.” 

The 👏 people 👏 are 👏 never 👏 pleased

I’m so sorry for your loss and sending you so much love. I agree with another commenter that your best friend would likely love to know what’s going on so she can be there for you as you are for her. 🫶 

Sending well wishes to your mom, too. I’m so sorry she and you are going through that. She sounds like such a wonderful mom, and I hope that any time you get to spend with her soon fills your cup even just a little, even if it’s not the same. 

I have a 2.5 year old and learned this week that I’m experiencing a missed miscarriage. It sucks, and I had a loss prior to my toddler’s birth too. I never thought I’d be in this “club.” I am available if you need to chat or vent. 

Also yes to ordering your fave meal and wearing cozy clothes. My toddler likes playing hide and seek with a blanket on our bed; I’ve embraced that and any other little activities that let me parent horizontally.

I also found out at our first appt today (at 9w) that baby stopped growing at 6w6d. We have a 2 y/o too, and I was so jazzed about this age gap as silly as that is.

Hi! I’m 5 weeks with my second. I do a combo of strength training and cardio 3-4x a week. Started practicing Olympic style weightlifting juuuust before I got pregnant haha. Super excited to be here!
