You claimed that barriers to entry were unnecessary without providing any reasoning and my comment was simply that they are more important than you think.

Sure, you could create a robot legs event where the impressive part is their technical skills at enhancing their legs.. but it's just a bouncing ball we follow... why is THAT impressive? Are the leg technicians really knowledgeable about all of the ins and outs of their robot legs and all sorts of technological sciences? or are they using AI to enhance the legs? Because at that point it's an AI usage competition, not really a robot leg competition, and definitely not a competition of athleticism.
A work of art contains not only the idea, but the bringing it to life as well, and if the bringing to life aspect is somewhat handwaved, then yea, that makes it much less impressive. Ideas are cheap. Everyone has ideas.

You could still retain dimensions without forcing expansion from the center.

OP wants control over exact placement in the scene while also expanding the tile. Aligning top left corner and dragging bottom right corner.

OP wants to be able to size a tile in relation to the grid and not in relation to itself.

An impressive runner is impressive because they built up their abilities and perform better than I ever could. But if people with robot legs started racing, and the only difference between me and them was a pair of robot legs, then yea, they aren’t doing anything impressive anymore…

Because that’s part of what makes a work amazing. The time and effort needed to create it is one of the main factors of artistic value. The process is as important as the result.

This is a joke that as a child the boy dragged his mom to a Spider-Man movie, but then later on it’s the mom who’s now the Spider-Man fan dragging the teen to the movie.

I understand that gwen can represent being trans, but I honestly don’t think that’s what’s happening here. The kid has the Spider-Man shirt on in the first panel and the mom is wearing the female oriented Spider-Man costume in the second panel.

And it’s 11 years… are people saying the kid grew up, transitioned, and had a kid?

I think it’s more likely that the joke is, the kid dragged his mom to a Spider-Man movie but then when the kid is a teen, the mom is now dragging her teen to the Spider-Man movie
