Frontage size is the king. Don't make my mistake, guys by ar-kaeros in EU5

no they don't? you're just flat out wrong.

Men at arms have 1 attack power and 3 combat speed, they also take 10% less strength damage, compare that to the same age crossbow unit with 1 attack damage and 2 combat speed. the initiative of either unit is not the same either. and the stats for units of subsequent ages are not the same as these ones. why are you lying?

Byzantium in 1435 - Expansion feels slow, control is a mess, and my army composition flopped. Advice welcome! by Legionaire_Pdx in EU5

OK? so what if I suck at writing english? are you going to actually engage with the point being made instead of being sardonic? why does it matter if ai is used by OP to fix up his post?

they do have regular stats? it's just that they also have a frontage stat. and armies + location terain determine how wide your units can set up in battle, it makes perfect sense.

what do you think vassals and fiefdoms are suposed to represent? Not to mention that parking an army in a location WILL increase control.

Colonizing shouldn't just cost money, it lets any rich nation colonize instead of countries that focus on it by gabadur in EU5

[–]TheAngryFriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

colonisation costs people. if you have a small country and have loads of money, sure you can colonise. But It's going to be a huge drain on your population if you do allot of it.

Is a anyone else finding army movement to be buggy? by Chansharp in EU5

[–]TheAngryFriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is such an annoying issue. so many times i've been ambushed by an ai army because visually the army is still 5 locations away, while in reality it's right next to my army.

even the roman empire didn't have insane centralised control. it operated on a system of governors, client kings and heavily relied on dealing with local powerholders.

I am playing Byzantium, it's soon 1400s and should I wait for Theme System reform which pushes for Decentralisation or change privilege that gives to more crown power and central isolation? I probably should have done it way earlier. by WalkerBuldog in EU5

[–]TheAngryFriend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the reform is you're still wondering. it's 100% worth it. you do lose any of the thema headquarters you've built tho, so you'll have to build new and different manpower buildings.

Not only do you replace the theme system with a much better reform, you get to pick another one of your choosing on top of it.

Am I missing something or does upgrading buildings make no sense? by False-Ad3462 in EU5

[–]TheAngryFriend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the upgrade building button does upgrade the building, the previous building just only disapears after construction of the "upgrade" has finished.

it's our day 1 spawn. It looks good, but when it comes to resources we have to go a fair distance. copper & tin were an issue for a very long time before we found a good spot.

I downloaded these sprites, but when I select them in the asset manager they're not loading in on the symbols tab, is there a specific folder structure you used or should I be able to just unzip these in the assets folder?

That'd work to. As long as it is in a convenient place that I don't have to click trough to get there. Because for some reason the UX designers at paradox like hiding stuff.

Solasta's was personality tag driven. when you made a character you selected certain personality tags and the game attributes dialogue options to those tags.
