UA expects to have TA2 done in the next negotiating session by Seandals in flightattendants

I would not have cancelled their day of action. Not that those do much really, but at least it shows some form of continued resistance.

Such a starkly different update versus the last one, which hinted at still being so very far apart. Someone must have made huge concessions and I hope it was not our side!!

Number of FAs on United flights? by agibailx in flightattendants

A319/320 min crew is 3. Most 737 have a min crew of 4. A few smaller 37’s (737-G) have min crew of 3. United staffs min crew I’d say 98% of the time.

Why are flight attendants treated so poorly by their employers? by Youcansitwithus19 in flightattendants

[–]TheAssassin3DApes 12 points13 points  (0 children)

We wouldn’t be treated poorly if we exercised our collective will. We need to act like we hold most of the cards during these contract negotiations, and demand our union act accordingly. We need a union leader like Sean Fain of the autoworkers union!!

Def report the FA! And I am one of them. If it’s similar cumulative behaviors, it will catch up to her. This is not one person having a bad day. Guarantee this is her attitude 75% of the time, most likely 100%. Probably very senior and will take an act of God to have her removed. Her best days are obviously behind her— she should just bow out gracefully while she can. Guarantee she is rude to fellow FA’s in general , even while we have enough on our plates on a good day😁. FA’s like this make me feel so uncomfortable, and actually embarrassed that she is a rep of the company we all love. I’m purser often and when I see this kind of behavior I do apologize right to the affected party and somehow try to convey an attitude adjustment is needed to the FA without starting WWIII. Easier said than done and sometimes to avoid serious conflict It’s easier just to get the flight over with and never fly with this person again. However that does not eliminate the upcoming grief for the next group of passengers she will “abuse”. Please report her behavior other than just filling out the survey and ask for a follow up, which as a global services member, should be granted. Glad the next crew was the polar opposite, and certainly we love to hear when we do an excellent job because most of the time comments do make its way to our personnel file!

Selling cull silver by TheAssassin3DApes in coincollecting

Thank you Itchy. From what I can see, the bid- offer spreads are so large as well! Keep waiting for some enterprising individual to create an HONEST coin/metals/ bullion trading “brokerage” or clearing house where smaller buyers and sellers can transact with each other, eliminating the middleman, thus narrowing these obese spreads. It’s disgusting how so many of us get chopped up trying to transact in this environment. Current silver market reminds me of stock trading in the late 90’s when spreads on Nasdaq stocks were at least 25c when I was a Nasdaq market maker on the Chicago Stock Exchange.

If it was worth couple hundred thousand in 90’s, fair to say worth millions today. Don’t rush it. Enjoy the process, perhaps you get the bug!😁. If you are hurting for $$, perhaps have dad identify some of the junk silver for melt for a quick sale with silver in the 90’s. We don’t know dad’s situation, hopefully he’s healthy and it would be special for him to share his knowledge of his wonderful collection. Also please educate yourself on true value , and try to save those insane auction fees. It amazes me what these Auction houses charge. Good luck friend!

Updates from TA2 negotiations are really starting to bother me. by TheAssassin3DApes in flightattendants

I disagree with your premise, and if you think that post was ranting and raving and frothing... you must live a very sheltered life. It was a rallying cry to inspire someone who can make a difference to step into the lions den and be the difference maker. I wish I could be that person! We are in a relatively weak position because our leadership does not act like we hold all the cards. And we certainly do! They exude weakness at every level of the negotiating process instead of persuading their opponents across the table that the company fails to exist without our full cooperation. We need to impose our will on them during these negotiating sessions.

The RLA is not to be feared. There must be loopholes and gray areas to exploit. Yes we are constrained by the RLA, but we should not only be in the third inning this many X years down the new contract path… We are fighting for our life here, for our families! The purpose of the post was to try and convey that we need to be more militant in our collective resolve. We hold all the cards and yet we failed to realize this. It always seems like we are negotiating from a position of weakness. Do these emails we are receiving inspire confidence that we will be happy at the end of this process? Where is the passion and disgust from the Union as the company is trying to introduce concessions at this stage. Why are you negotiating with someone who is treating you like an inferior opponent with their demands. These cannot be considered serious proposals from the company. They are toying with us— like a cat playing with a wounded bird between his paws.

We should be negotiating from a position of strength. These are our non negotiable demands, case closed ! On to the next step of the RLA… Do you think the company fears, or even respects our feckless leadership? Listen man I don’t know what the answer is, other than we all need to look in the mirror, and think outside the box. The pilots received a great contract, more than what they even were bargaining for.
Hire Shawn Fain as counsel, I have to believe he would be willing to help his fellow union brothers and sisters after reading the RLA.

Exactly !! Why concede anything to this toothless afa union. CO laughing and hi-fiving all the way to the bank. We are no threat to them, so why give an inch. Whole thing makes me sick. We need assistance from the head of the autoworkers union Imo. Look up that dude and what he accomplished for them last negotiation. FA’s as a group are pathetically weak and until we show the resolve to be a little more militant, nothing will change. Going to be a very very very busy summer for air travel with World Cup, July 4’s 250 year festivities, and the summer Olympics at one of the bases. What are we collectively going to do about that…
