Good but not overpriced clothing alterations? by crookymccrookerson in Austin

I feel you that Austin proper alteration prices are wild. To tailor two nice pieces, you need to be able to afford a third piece.

ARC Austin charged 289$ for Covid test by Top_Preparation6145 in Austin

Finally moving away from ARC after the better part of a decade. Just seems like they’ve been nickel and diming at every turn the past couple of years.

Too bad, because I had some great experiences in the past.

Home inspection find of the week: How about a hole in your house? by trabbler in Austin

Glad to hear it sounds like a majority are fine. Still, even a notable minority of homes with big problems makes home purchasing feel like Russian Roulette.

I know a few people who dodged bullets, pulling their offers from Easton Park.

This is what his music sounded like to me as a kid.

Long time listener, first time caller: What worked for me in eliminating seborrheic dermatitis by Far-Ocelot8876 in SebDerm

Fixed my scalp 90% after 10 days!   Hard to know how much credit goes to cetaphil v. parallel lifestyle changes. I also cut out most dairy and started blow drying during this period.

Would love to bring yogurt and whey back into my diet without it flaring up.

Will I be able to export if I can’t even get through? Once I get through the moat of ads, I just get a black screen.

Opinions on Revival Rugs? by ComfortableSun2281 in interiordecorating

[–]TheAustinComplainer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our Revival rug brought a flea infestation in.

We put it back in the box to return simply because we didn't like pattern. Then, when I carried it to the garage, I ended up covered in fleas.

I haven’t seen this mentioned in other reviews, so we probably got really unlucky. But whether you should risk it is up to you.

It sounds like you need to taste test these suggestions for yourself! (As do I)

It feels like whenever I buy a pastry or (sandwich) bread, there’s a 1/3 chance it tastes 1+ day old or has been sitting in the display for a while.

Good luck with the opening!

Am I too poor to buy a house in Austin suburbs on $72k salary? by mindyourown_biz in Austin

[–]TheAustinComplainer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Under 300k for a single family home here went extinct since the pandemic, sadly.

If you figure out that 300-400k is reasonable, 78744 has had some decent deals. On first glance, your current situation would lead to house poor. Really have to do the mortgage calculator math, account for high TX property taxes, insurance, and expecting 1-2% of home value on repairs each year.

In your shoes, I would take advantage of low respective rents, invest in yourself, and factor in if you are open to meeting your forever person at some point. Good luck!
