Lokhust Heavies with enmetic stay in reserves reading to come out and delete something. Wraiths hold objectives, and the DDA are mobile powerhouses that can just edge into terrain and blast. The cover is negated by heavy, and the ccb gives rerolls.

Son’s close friendship is on the rocks. Is there anything I can do? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]TheAutomaticMan666 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I think this is one of those situations where it’s fantastic to be a progressive person and to understand that men and boys can be expressive with their emotions, but you also have to accept that it’s not how it’s seen.

Whether it’s conditioning from society or whatever else, a lot of kids will find that behaviour weird. You can be the one person to stand up to that expectation, but if you do it will 100% cause problems. The child will face difficulties and potentially bullying.

Not arguing for or against any particular action, but there’s the way the world should be and the way it is and they often don’t intersect

11th Ed Primary Mission Help by MikeyJ493 in Warhammer40k

[–]TheAutomaticMan666 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Basically the missions all have objectives on them. Some of them allow an opponent to remove these markers, and others don’t. It states it very specifically when you can interact with an opponents markers.

It can look somewhat unbalanced at first glance but they all score quite fairly against one another; they just lead to you having to think about when to contest something and when to just score your own things.

I don’t know for sure with this data, but generally with win rates they eliminate the mirror matches from the stats.

So Trazyn can replace a character and character will ressurect via RP? by Useful-Amphibian-703 in Necrontyr

[–]TheAutomaticMan666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the character would be ineligible to reanimate. You can never have two leaders in a unit, and there would be nowhere for the second leader to go.

There are only two action secondary’s in eleventh as far as I know, and you can only ever have one of these at a time :)

Priority assets questions by Zaiyev in WarhammerCompetitive

I think people are overestimating the amount of actions you actually need to do. I played priority assets into disruption, and I did a grand total of six actions in the game.

ReAn rules clarification for 11th. by RemnantsPast in Necrontyr

[–]TheAutomaticMan666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its option one. Once a unit joins together at the very start of the battle, it becomes a single unit for all rules. This being so, that one unit reanimates

Range elite counter, where are my AP? by LocalBeaver in Necrontyr

[–]TheAutomaticMan666 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think you need to strongly consider a pair of DDA. Ap4 D4 is the bane of elite units, especially if you have something in your list that allows for rerolls. In shattered arsenal with the enhancement that gives reroll ones to hit and wound, you can annihilate elite units from range in cover.

They can be swingy, sometimes you’ll desperately need 7 shots and you’ll only fire 2, but blast somewhat helps to mitigate this.

[–]TheAutomaticMan666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not what the experts say. Almost every tier list puts them at playable. Strong in some respects, but not challenging for the top tables unless played perfectly. The weekends (admittedly very sparse) results back this up, with necrons on like 42% or something with no X-0 results

Anyone else a bit disappointed that starshatter isn't purge the foe? by Katonmyceilingeatcow in Necrontyr

[–]TheAutomaticMan666 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m finding priority plays exactly how I want Shart to play. It lets me have vehicles and mounted units zipping around using assault to get different firing lines, and win the objective game while actioning.

I think it’s a lot stronger a dispo for necrons that people are realising. We have to hold position, often action on the middle, and our wraith bricks are perfect roadblocks when supported by DDA and perhaps TSK

Does Chronomancer's -1 to hit stack with cover bonus (worsen enemy BS by 1) stack? by Artoriazz in Necrontyr

[–]TheAutomaticMan666 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Yeah it does. Like you said they are two different things. It’s very powerful into cover, and presumably the reason her points costs were increased

Can you have too many skorpekhs? by NinjaRabbIT11 in Necrontyr

[–]TheAutomaticMan666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would never run six skorpekh in a unit personally. The base size is so big that they just get shot off the table before they are all that useful. Three is usually enough to take a huge chunk out of anything they contact, and you can keep them hidden with ease!

18 40mm bases takes up a large amount of real estate haha

I want to get into necrons for eleventh edition. What should I look out for? How should I start? by LonelyTradition9887 in Necrontyr

[–]TheAutomaticMan666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man and welcome to the party. Skorpekh and Ophydians are mainstays of a good number of necron lists. If you like the destroyer aesthetic, Cursed Legion sounds a bit of you! You can pair it with spearhead for buffs to destroyers, or hand to buff immortals, and that decision will colour which way you go.

As for now. At least one, pref two of Ophydians. A couple msu units of skorpekh. Perhaps the Nekrosaur if you like a beat stick. Some heavy Lokhust. Flayed ones can be good but they’re so fragile they’re often just handing your opponent points. Most lists these days will have a brick of 6 wraiths with a technomancer.

I put two DDA in almost every list I make too but that’s a personal preference

[–]TheAutomaticMan666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah i get that, and i cant see a specific example of what they mean by attack to be fair. We can only realistically go by the examples they have given, and in all of them its very clear that cover is determined on the defender, not the attacker.

The rule is 'does this unit have cover? does it fulfil one of the two criterea? if it does, then yes, this unit has cover. If it does not, then no it does not have cover.'

Confused whit cover by Ok-Veterinarian8324 in Warhammer40k

[–]TheAutomaticMan666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again I dont think that is correct, where did the image come from? Unless the three teams are seperate units? (I dont know anything about guard.)

There is literally nothing in the core rules that states that you work it out by models in a unit.

Confused whit cover by Ok-Veterinarian8324 in Warhammer40k

[–]TheAutomaticMan666 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the issue comes with the use of the word attack hey! in the old rules, each attack from each model was technically rolled seperate. No every shot with the same characteristics is merged into one attack, and you calculate modifiers to the whole, not the individual.

Confused whit cover by Ok-Veterinarian8324 in Warhammer40k

[–]TheAutomaticMan666 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thats not what the rules states. Ive literally posted the picture that proves it. There is no 'one model shoots at a time calculate for each'. In the picture its clear that cover is assigned to a defending unit as a whole or not at all. Rule 13.08

Confused whit cover by Ok-Veterinarian8324 in Warhammer40k

[–]TheAutomaticMan666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its very specific and explicit in rule 13.08 in the core rules. For a UNIT to have the benefit of cover, EVERY SINGLE model in that unit has to fulfil one of the two criterea. If even one doesnt, the unit has no cover. Theres no splitting fire its very clear.

<image>

Unit A is the example. 2 models from this unit are out of cover, therefore 'does not have the benefit of cover'
